www.operaphila.org -- On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the Opera Company of Philadelphia brought together over 650 choristers from 28 participating organizations to perform one of the Knight Foundation's "Random Acts of Culture" at Macy's in Center City Philadelphia. Accompanied by the Wanamaker Organ - the world's largest pipe organ - the OCP Chorus and throngs of singers from the community infiltrated the store as shoppers, and burst into a pop-up rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's "Messiah" at 12 noon, to the delight of surprised shoppers. This event is one of 1000 "Random Acts of Culture" to be funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation over the next three years. The initiative transports the classical arts out of the concert halls and opera houses and into our communities to enrich our everyday lives. www.simpson.edu It's a cold, gray December day in Iowa, and you're stuck at the mall, trying to elbow past all the other shoppers to find that perfect gift for the relative you only see once a year. Suddenly, you hear the beginning notes of, "The Hallelujah Chorus" play over the mall's sound system. It's much louder than the normal Christmas music. You look around. Young people -- 100 in all -- are removing their coats, revealing their Simpson College T-shirts and sweatshirts. And they begin to sing, filling the mall with their glorious voices. That was the scene Sunday at the Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines, where members of the Simpson College choir (along with a few alumni, faculty and staff members) conducted a "Flash Mob" in the middle of the busy shopping season. Students also brought 50 shoes, boots and coats to donate to the "Shoes that Fit" campaign before they sang. Follow us on Twitter @simpsoncollege. Find us on Facebook at facebook.com

AMEN! Thanks for listening! May God bless you! If you have any requests, please feel free to stop by and make them or to check out the other videos =) LYRICS: Verse 1: I believe I'll testify, God's been good to me. Through every test and trial, I've got the victory. The enemy has tried his best to make me turn around, bring me down, but my God's never failed me yet, so I'm gonna stand me ground. Chorus: No matter what comes my way, I'll lift my voice and say, hallelujah anyhow. Verse 2: Wait a minute, one more time, think I'll say it again. God's been so good to me, and He's my closest friend. I've come too far to turn around now. I'm gonna stand, I'm gonna wait, watch God work it out somehow. Chorus Bridge: Oh hallelujah, hallelujah anyhow. Hallelujah, hallelujah anyhow. Hallelujah, hallelujah anyhow. No matter what comes my way, I'll lift my voice and say... Vamp: Hallelujah anyhow. Hallelujah anyhow, I'll keep singing.

At Radio City Music Hall in New York, Andre Rieu along with the Harlem Gospel Choir, and Tenors and Sopranos from his own group of performers, put forth an out of this world, totally moving rendition of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. The whole piece, from which the Hallelujah Chorus is just one part, is known as Messiah. It is legendary that it was inspired by God. Handel composed the piece in just three weeks, but it is said that modern musicians can hardly even copy it in three weeks, let alone write it from the ground up. Hopefully you will all feel the tremendous Light in this piece, and recognize that it is intended to give the Glory to the Christ Self that is a part of each and every one of us. Always Peace and Light! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
