Leonid Sabaneyev's miraculous Prelude op. 10 No. 5, played by Marc-André Hamelin. Sabaneyev (spelling can be different; originally it's Леони́д Леони́дович Сабане́ев) is a very obscure composer today. He was a contemporary and admirer of Scriabin, who apparently had a great influence on his output. Sabaneyev's piano works has never been recorded by anybody and are often very difficult to play, compiling dozens of huge chords and awkward passages. This tiny one is a very poetic exception.

PART 1 Nikolai Medtner's majestic Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, 1st movement (part 1). IMO, this piece is definitely one of the highlights of the piano concerto literature, absolutely par with any of its dedicatée's, Sergei Rachmaninoff's splendid works of this kind (and should be performed at least as often as those).
