DUCKLING HATCHING
I hatch ducklings all year round, they are Aylesbury ducks,bred for egg laying and for the table. they are free range on the farm. Once hatched the ducklings will rest for an hour or so as it is exhausted from all the hard work. I only want female ducks for egg laying and sell the males,the males make better pets if you have neighbours as they don't make a lot of noise.. I have been lucky enough to sell my excess male ducks as pets so far!! They live on a Free Range Egg Farm and all the Hens and ducks are treated with kindness, pls do not put comments on my videos with your personal views about eating meat. As I do not come on here all the time, any comments that are put on here to cause any upset to anyone whether Vegetarian or meat eater will be removed, This video is purely for the beauty of mother nature. thanks to everone who views this and your nice comments..Sue

Hummingbird Chick Hatching - January 18, 2011
In the video, the chick has already formed a pip in the egg. It is hidden, pressed against the closest egg to the left. With sun shining on the egg, you can see our valiant hero struggling inside the shell to widen the hole it has started. You can see the hole crack open at about the 2:00 minute mark and the crack spreading around to the far side until Phoebe returns. She sits protectively on the egg for 15 minutes before revealing the hatched chick at about 3:30.

Select 720p for HD! A giant pacific octopus mother who lived just across from downtown Seattle had her hatch right under the noses of local divers. Her den was sequestered in Cove Two in West Seattle, in a location that spared her from predators and over-visitation by humans. On September 4 (aka early, early on September 5), 2010, the eggs began hatching. It's a time of mixed emotion; joy at the hatch, and sadness at the knowledge that this event means the mother's life will end. The hatch lasted a full week, after which the mother died. Kolibri - Humming Bird Hatching
Kolibri, nesting and rising its children. The IBC (Internet Bird Collection) has identified the species as an Amazilia tzacatl (Rufous-tailed) Hummingbird. Nesting in Cartagena de Indias, Caribbean in the middle of our small garden. Surprisingly the Kolibri was not disturbed by our children who often take a bath only 3 meters away from the nest. It was found June 19, 2009 by Tom Dodd, a volunteer from "Share the Beach." The eggs hatched on August 12, 2009. The first egg hatched at 4 pm during a thunderstorm. 107 more followed at 7:30 pm This is an unusual daytime hatching of loggerheads. The video includes the "boil" when the baby turtles climb their way to the surface after emerging from their eggs. The Decorah eagle nest was featured in a PBS Nature series program, "American Eagle," that premiered in November 2008. Filmed by cinematographers Robert Anderson and Neil Rettig in high-definition, the video is available on DVD and online. How high is the nest? About 80 feet. How big is the nest? 5-6 feet across, about the same deep; it weighs about 1½ tons. How old is the nest? The eagles built it in 2007. A previous nest close by fell when a windstorm broke one of the branches. Are these eagles banded? No. Which is the male and which is the female? It is hard to tell the difference unless they are both on the nest. The female is larger than the male. This female has a ridge above her eyes that goes further back than on the male, and her eyes are surrounded by a greyish shadow; the male has a line around his eyes that makes them look "beadier." They were constantly landing on us. They were all the way from the treetops to the path in front of us. Hundreds of thousands of Western Whites. This isn't a particularly unusual event, but we totally lucked into it. It wasn't intentional or anything. We also saw mourning cloaks and swallowtails and the really tame one that I got those RIDICULOUS close-ups of was a mystery to me so I asked twitter, and the consensus is "probably an eastern comma" but anglewings all look very similar, so we're not sure. We'd need to look at it's genitalia, probably.

Helping hatch a baby chick
I needed to help hatch an 18 day baby chick in distress. 2 Hens had eaten 1/3 of the shell leaving the inner membraine intact but dried out except for a small hole near the chicks beak. The chick was chirping, coughing and sputtering. The hens then expelled the egg/chick from the nest so I brought the egg into my art studio where I turned up the heat and a humidifier. I placed the egg inside a roll of tape (to hold it in place) near the window in the sun (which is why the light seems to flicker.) This video is taken over the courseof many hours. First I used blunt end needle nose pliers to slide under the dried membraine and then slid very fine sharp sissors between the membrane and sissors and cut it open little by little. The membrane was far to tough to tear withmy bare fingers. After peeling away each bit of membrane I waited at least 1 hour in hopes of seeing some progress on the chicks part. But each time the chick continued it's peeping and coughing. Once the dried membrane was removed from the portion exposed by the hens I waited many hours and rotated the egg a bit so the baby could simply get up and out. In the end I titlted the egg so the baby could kick and roll itself out which it did. I then cut the flesh connecting the chick to the remaining yolk and egg as close to the shell end as possable. Then I placed the chick under the hens who shared the nest teh chick came from. One hen seemed to view the chick as a preditor so I stayed in teh coop for a while hand <b>...</b>
