Hello, thank you for watching :) Small business ( or commercial ) envelopes are readily available in my home and at the stores -- even Sams Club, Wal Mart, dollar stores, etc. These small or commercial business envelopes, No. 6 ¾ (who made up that size?) and have a size of 3 3/8" x 6 ½". I have a box of 80 security envelopes by Mead (security -- tinted color inside) with a price tag of 88 cents. Easy to find, I have 2-3 boxes in my house all the time. So why don't I have cards to fit these boxes? Why do I have to make a special trip to the stationary store to buy "specialty" envelopes when I have 200 envelopes at home? Stop the insanity! Lol So I am going to make some cards that fit standard small business size envelopes. And I'm taking you with me LOL. Another benefit of using small business size envelopes is that they fit into mail sorters. This is great for businesses who use sorters to organize their mailings. There is a downside to using these envelopes for cards. The envelope size is commercial and it says "commercial" just looking at. Many people will not mind getting a birthday and present using this standard envelope size -- but specialty envelopes says "special" just by being a different size. AND standard card sizes like A2 are closer to being a square -- giving it more versatility when you decorate. Still, when you need a card NOW the small business envelope is to the rescue! When it launched last week, I took you guys through the ordering process of a card from the Cards app. This is Apple's new service that allows you to make a virtual greeting card and send out a physical one to anyone for free. You go through the steps of adding a photo, theme, text, and more through the app and then send it out right on your device. The card arrived in about 5 days(could possibly take longer or shorter to get to you) and it came in a nice packaged envelope. Upon opening the envelope you get the card you made on your device! I thought it would have been a little better quality. For $2.99-4.99 it's not too bad. I was expecting a glossy card that would make the picture on the front shine. Instead you get something that resembles an inkjet print. Of course the gloss I long for would cost a bit extra but maybe this service will blow up and we'll get some upgrades! You can download the Cards application from the App Store for FREE with all cards sent within the US costing $2.99 and Internationally for $4.99. Not too shabby. Hello and Welcome! I made this video to help the 1st time card maker to make a card at home. To make a card at home you will need: 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Cardstock will give better results than regular paper, but in a pinch it all works. Envelopes! If you have time -- make a trip to Staples or Office Max (not sure Wal Mart will have this) and buy Invitation Size envelopes. Usually the cards are packed as 50 per box. Look to see if you can choose between white and ivory. Buy the cardstock at the same time (or really nice linen paper?) -- don't mix the white and ivory colors if you are a beginner. If you have these invitation size (A2 size -- greater than 4.25 x 5.5 inches) envelopes you can make standard greeting cards. This video will show you how i created MY wedding invitations. The colour theme of my wedding is royal purple, lime green (as a pop colour), black and white/ivory. The modern aspect of these invites is the colours and the vintage aspect is the incorparation of the lace doily envelopes, the kraft paper and the twine. The wedding invites themselves are in the style of a telegram to add to the vintage feel. The hardest part of these ivites was finding the paper doily in the right size. Once youve found them...your good to go.
