A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, a talented genius made a video of himself playing the Star Wars theme on piano, at www.youtube.com . Millions stared in awe and excitement but were saddened and disappointed by the lack of sheet music. They scoured the internet and the local stores for a piano arrangement worthy of consideration, but all they found were watered down, simplified arrangements which paled in comparison to the great miracle they had seen on youtube. Finally, today, a worthy written arrangement of the Star Wars Main Theme for piano has surfaced! While my piano's sound and my raw dexterity may not equal that of the original Star Wars pianist, my written arrangement contains at least as much orchestral detail and heroism as does the original video, if not more. It is, however, extremely difficult to learn (I could not master it in the 5-10 hours I spent), so be warned! Heroism doesn't have an age requirement. In fact, many of the bravest warriors out there are children. That is why Spartan Race has teamed up with The Max Cure Foundation and created The Jr. Spartan Adventure that debuted in Texas on March 26th. The Max Cure Foundation is dedicated to battling pediatric cancer. The Jr. Spartan Adventure will be for all ages and will raise money for The Max Cure Fund at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to underwrite a one of it's kind cell therapy lab dedicated to the development of less toxic treatments for children. There are 12, 500 a year diagnosed with cancer and are forced to fight heroic battles, while their families refocus their lives and often times are forced to put it on hold. For this reason, we are also rcreating a fund to financially assist those families living with children with cancer. The Max Cure foundation has raised over 1.3 million dollars since it's inception in 2007, when founder David Plotkin's son was diagnosed with cancer on the eve of his fourth birthday. Spartan Race is proud to partner with Max Cure in order to produce an obstacle race for kids - which will be a first of it's kind - and to help raise money for this noble cause while inspiring hope to families and communities living with cancer.
