This video is actually taken from a larger video I call "Accord Smackdown", in it I replace the timing belt, radiator, a major service, and some other stuff that I don't remember. 2003 Honda Element valve adjustment
2003 Honda Element valve adjustment. Im in southern California, and it's absolutely pouring rain outside my garage. The lighting is very poor with my spot light. This is a very abbreviated video with lots of cuts and edits from the valve adjustment. I presume you all dont need to see me take every single bolt, coil, spark plug, and washer off. In addition, my spot light bulb burnt out during the video, so I have no video of re-assembly. Nevertheless, the video is already 11:29, and will take a really, really, really long time to upload (348 minutes according to youtube). I learned everything on how to do the valve adjustment from hondasuv (dot) com, elementownersclub (dot) com, crvownersclub (dot) com, garagejournal (dot) com, bobistheoilguy (dot) com, and youtube (dot) com. Only one intake valve on cylinder 2 was off specification at 0.012", where it is supposed to be between 0.008" and 0.010". I adjusted it to 0.010". the car has 132000 miles on it, and this is the first valve adjustment.

Motorcycle Repair: How to adjust the Valves or Valve Lash on a 1985 Honda XR600
**Always follow the instructions in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on a motorcycle. Manuals can be found at the dealer and online.** In this video I show how to adjust the valves on a 1985 Honda XR600. Each valve and rocker arm is covered by a screw on cap called a valve adjustment cap. The caps should be removed to adjust the valves.The valves should be adjusted with the bike cold and the piston at TDC (top dead center) on the compression stroke. There are two small threaded covers on the left side of the crankcase. Behind the larger cover is a bolt attached to the crankshaft that can be used to rotate the crankshaft using a ratchet and socket. Behind the smaller cover you can see the outer edge of the rotor/flywheel. On the outer edge of the rotor is etched a line next to the letter 'T'. When the line is exactly in the center of the smaller cover hole, the piston is at top dead center. Use a ratchet and socket to rotate the crankshaft counter clockwise until the line next to the letter T is centered in the smaller cover hole. If the piston is at TDC, the rocker arms should be loose and you should be able to wiggle the rocker arms with your fingers. If you can't, than the piston is not at TDC on the compression stroke and the crankshaft should be rotated another 360 degrees counter clockwise. Once the piston is at TDC on the compression stroke the valves can be adjusted. On each rocker arm is a adjustment screw and a lock nut. After the lock nut <b>...</b>

2009 Honda Shadow Aero 750 Lifter Adjustments. (Part 5 of the lifter adjustment series.)
Adjusting the mechanical lifters on a 2009 Honda Shadow Aero for its 600 mile service. The specs are .15mm for the intakes and .20mm for the exhaust. There are two intake valves, and one exhaust valve per cylinder. Incidentally I had to go back and do it again, because the feeler gauge blades were stuck together and I set the gap wrong. It is most definitely worth checking to make sure that you are only using ONE blade at a time. Apparently new feeler gauges do that from time to time... Oh well.

I also want to add my "Idle Speech" into the mix here: There are a lot of things that can contribute to an idle issue, in fact in the end it may still be there to some degree because of the nature of that engine however here are some things to start with. First start with a good tune up, use NGK or Nippon Denso plugs, don't change the wires if they are OE, if they aren't OE you might consider NGK wires as they are very good and less expensive then OE. A quality cap and rotor should be good. A new air filter also helps. Don't change the PCV valve, if you see an aftermarket PCV valve in there put a Honda in, believe it or not I've seen idle issues caused by aftermarket PCV valves, the OE's last just about forever so you can <b>...</b>
