This album is one of of my top 2 or 3 favorites by the Hootenannys, it is THAT good. As you listen to the beautiful melody, enjoy the albums on which it is featured, as well as some artwork by Swedens greatest composer and national treasure, Evert Taube.

Hootenanny SIngers sjunger Evert Taube
The boys released 2 albums of Evert Taube songs, they are by far the boys best work. (Although the Dan Andersson album comes close.) This album was released in 1965 and the boys sing Taubes accoustic folk medleys. Björns fans will love "Britta". "Den sköna Helen" has always been one of my favorites by the boys. "Tango Rosa" finishes up the video, Taube is credited with introducing the tango to Sweden, he learned it on his long sojourn on the Argentine Pampas. Evert Taube in our style, or, Evert Taube done our way. The boys released two albums of Taube songs. 1965s "Sjunger Evert Taube",(See my earlier video here) and this album 10 years later, in 1974. The first Taube LP featured his accoustic folk tunes, this LP features his waltzes and polkas. The album is extremely well made, slickly produced and arranged by Björn, Benny and well known band-leader Sven-Olof Walldorf (He was ABBA's "Napoleon" at their Eurovision win.) First up is "Ingrid Dardels Polska". Little Ingrid watches the fishing boats come in, filled with their glittering catch. The sea-gulls are happy, they'll share in the feast! The clock stikes noon, it is served! What will you have? Candy, fruit, spices, flowers? The boats have returned from overseas! Watch your skirt, the sailors are back! Ingrid, it's me, Evert Taube, and I am greeting you with the song I wrote just for you! Next is "Vals i Varapraiso". While sitting on the beach under the swaying palm-trees, I see the dolphins play amongst the corals. Over there! There's a shark's fin! They sing a sweet little song in Varapraiso, about Rosita, the little Chilean maiden. But, the condors are upset! The rattlesnakes are shaking their rattles furiously! for I am of Spanish blood, a "conquistador" in this land. Last is "Skärgårdsfrun".
