FORT COLLINS - A Colorado State University sophomore jumped from the roof of a Fort Collins apartment complex Saturday afternoon and landed on the concrete before his body rolled into the pool. Ian Smith is in critical condition after video shows him jumping from the roof during an afternoon pool party. His brother says Ian has broken ankles, broken heels and multiple broken vertebrae in his lower back. "Ugh, it definitely made me sick," Brittany Polliard, who witnessed the jump, said. She saw a "pool of blood" after Smith's jump. Jared Roberts lives in the building that Smith climbed. Roberts says people were screaming, and when he looked up, Smith was on the roof. He says he turned away to avoid seeing the jump, but he heard Smith hitting the pavement. "You could hear him hit it, and just kinda rolled into the pool," said Roberts. Witnesses say some people were urging Smith not to jump, though some were encouraging him. Witnesses say people were drinking and lounging by the pool. Smith, they say, did not live in the Ram's Village apartment complex. "When they realized how far he'd jumped from, one of the paramedics was saying he was lucky to be alive," Roberts said. Witnesses say the student was helped out of the pool, and firefighters confirm an ambulance took him to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Oklahoma City, OK -- A video on board a METRO Transit bus recorded a frightening crash when four suspects tried to outrun police. Police said the four men burglarized Dustin Hawkins' home in the 6700 block of S. Drexel Avenue on Wednesday. They grabbed the loot and took off in their car, but police saw the men speeding away and started chasing them. Police said the suspects ran a red light at SW 59th Street and Penn Avenue. A driver in a pickup truck slammed into the passenger's side of the getaway car, and crashed into two other cars. Despite the pileup, the suspects got out of the damaged vehicle and ran. Three suspects were caught, but a fourth is still on the run. A Metro Transit bus driver was at the scene. He heard the police sirens and stopped before reaching the intersection. His dashboard camera then recorded the violent collision which pushed the damaged cars several feet, right to the bumper of his bus. The camera also recorded all four suspects jumping out of the car and running just seconds after the crash. No one on board the bus was hurt.

Erin Langworthy, aged 22, plunges 111m into the Zambezi river after her bungee cord snaps in a horrific turn of events. She initially blacks out as she hits the water, but quickly returns to consciousness with the help of the icy cold water of the Zambezi river. With 20m of bungee cord still attached, she is able to flip onto her back and begin swimming survival backstroke to safety. Suddenly Erin notices the horrifying sound of the rapids she is about to be sucked into but no matter how hard she tries, the power of the water is too much and she enters the rapids. Being sucked under, spun around, disoriented were not the only odds she was facing while in the rapids! The 20m cord was getting snagged on rocks and pulling her back under the water, leaving her to swim back up the rapids to unhook the rope. Eventually Erin was able to swim to the Zimbabwean side of the Zambezi river and clutched onto a rock for her life until help arrived. Luckily Erin was able to hold on, as had she had just gone through a level 2 rapid, but had she continued down the river, just meters away lay a level FIVE rapid!
