Auto Repair: Fix Transmission Shift Problem Ford 5R55E Explorer more - 1AAuto.com

Ford used the 5R55E in many rear and 4 wheel Drive applications. It is a good transmission but is susceptible to the valve body gasket "blowing out." The symptom of this in our vehicle was that the transmission missed second gear under acceleration but found a higher gear when we let off the gas pedal. This is an easy problem to diagnose and only requires basic tools. Pull your transmission pan down, remove your valve body and see if either the gasket between the plate and transmission is damaged (as on our Explorer) or the gasket between the plate and valve body is damaged. If they are then you have an inexpensive rewarding fix. If they aren't you can put your transmission together and know you may have a more expensive problem. This transmission was used in Ford Aerostar, Ranger, Explorer, Thunderbird, Mustang Mazda B-Series pickup, Mercury Mountaineer, Lincoln LS and Jaquar S-Type. This problem is more common to the mid to late 90s models. Torque specifications for the valve body to transmission bolts are 6-8 foot lbs or 70-90 Inch lbs. The bolts that hold the transmission pan on are 10 foot lbs.

This one is for my son Page who happens to have the same problem as his uncle, a bad muffler. I have to admit to having some fun making this video, I love using torches, they can be a very powerful tool and get you out of a jam when you need it. I guess it goes without saying that you have to be careful doing this however since you can get hurt using torches, just remember, don't panic, work the problem and you will be fine. Also, work safe and use some common sense when using them and wear your safety glasses with the protective shading, it does make a difference. Automotive Repair: Diagnosing EVAP Systems, The Trainer, June 2011

workshop.search-autoparts.com Diagnosing "Check Engine" light complaints is a common task for most shops. And a leading cause of an illuminated MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is a fault in the evaporative emissions system. The primary function of the evaporative emissions system (also called the EVAP system) is to prevent fuel vapors in the tank from being released to the atmosphere. Instead, the vapors are collected in an activated charcoal storage tank, or canister. The ECM controls the purge of the canister by opening or closing a solenoid valve connecting the canister to the intake manifold of the engine, and allows the stored vapors to be fed and burned in the engine. The EVAP system is tested by the ECM to make sure all the components function as they are supposed to, and checks the system for leaks to the atmosphere. A pair of EVAP related codes on Pete's 2007 Toyota, and how he approached their diagnosis, is the topic of June's "The Trainer".

www.ericthecarguy.com Welcome back to another episode of ETCG where we boldly go where we haven't before, taking apart the dash on this 1999 Chevy Tahoe. To be honest it was easier than I thought, if I were to do it again I would try first cleaning the switch and if that didn't work I would just replace the switch for the problem this truck had. I'm learning things here too you know. Thanks for watching and don't forget to stay dirty ETCG

Spark Plug Well Oil Leak Fix, Honda Accord

www.ericthecarguy.com I know I've promised this one for some time so here it is. If you have this problem I recommend replacing the seals in the valve cover first and then coming back to recheck for oil in the spark plug wells in about a month or so, if you find oil then I recommend performing this procedure. I can't stress enough how important it is to make sure everything is lined up correctly when you reinstall the rocker assembly, bad things can happen if you don't. Good luck and as always, stay dirty. Minecraft self-building/repairing House using piston mod and cobble generator

Using the piston mod i constructed a fully self building and repairing house, it takes cobble from lava meeting water and moves it all around into the shape of a house with two floors. Piston mod is by far one of the best ive seen, and it potentially being in minecraft will be all the better. There are a couple limits with this, one is it wont go much faster then this, the pistons will collide with each other, and the cobble generator just cant keep up. Due to popular demand here is the save file... www.mediafire.com You MUST have a working piston mod installed or it will crash, and since piston mod doesnt work yet on 1.4_01, you will probably need 1.4, here is the mod www.minecraftforum.net
