
HOUSTON—A man, returning home from the hospital with his sick father, was shot and killed late Sunday during a robbery and home invasion near Reliant Stadium, according to Houston police. It happened at the San Marin apartments, located in the 8100 block of El Mundo at Holly Hall in southeast Houston. Police said a father and son were returning home from MD Anderson hospital, where the father is being for cancer, around 10:15 pm When they arrived to their front door, they were ambushed by two suspects, who pushed them inside the home, according to police. Once inside, the suspects began making several demands and the group began to struggle. The father ran to the front door and managed to get outside. Police said his son, 25-year-old Salem Al Mazrouei, was running behind him when one of the suspects opened fire. The son was struck an unknown number of times. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspects fled the scene in the victim's black, four-door, 2008 Toyota Avalon, license plate number NDX-63T. Police believe the victims were directly targeted. They said the suspects were hiding and waiting for the men to arrive home.
