★ Dassault Rafale - The Future of Indian Air Force ★

The Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engine delta-wing agile multi-role fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. The Rafale was brought in as the replacement for the Mirage 2000-5 that was originally a competitor for the tender, after the production lines for the Mirage closed down, as well as the entry of much more advanced aircraft into the competition. The Rafale has the advantage of being logistically and operationally similar to the Mirage 2000, which the IAF already operates and used with great success during the Kargil War. This would require fewer changes in the existing infrastructure of the IAF, which in turn will reduce cost. Moreover, being 100% French also provided Dassault a distinct edge over its competitors on the issue of technology transfer. Dassault claims that the Rafale has an advantage over many of the competitors because it is not subject to ITAR restrictions. While not included in the MRCA requirement, the French fighter has more configurations of potential interest for the IAF: a carrier-based version (the Rafale M) and a capability for nuclear strategic strike. Both of these particular versions are in use in the French Armed Forces. The French government has cleared full technology transfer of the Rafale to India, including that of the RBE2-AA AESA radar which will be integrated into the Rafale by 2010 and also the transfer of software source codes, which will allow Indian scientists to re-program a radar or any sensitive ...

Indian Air force MIG 21 Bison 1/2

In 1961, the Indian Air Force (IAF) opted to purchase the MiG-21 over several other Western competitors because the Soviet Union offered India full transfer of technology and rights for local assembly. In 1964, the MiG-21 became the first supersonic fighter jet to enter service with the IAF. Due to limited induction numbers and lack of pilot training, the IAF MiG-21 played a limited role in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. However, the IAF gained valuable experience while operating the MiG-21 for defensive sorties during the war.The positive feedback from IAF pilots during the 1965 war prompted India to place more orders for the fighter jet and also invest heavily in building the MiG-21's maintenance infrastructure and pilot training programs. By 1969, India had acquired more than 120 MiG-21s from the Soviet Union. THE UNBEATABLE SUKHOI POWER OF INDIAN AIR FORCE

Sukhoi Su-30 MKI (NATO reporting name: Flanker-H) is a multirole combat aircraft jointly developed by Russia's Sukhoi Corporation and India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). A variant of the Sukhoi Su-30, it is an all-weather capable, heavy class, long-range air superiority fighter which can also act as a strike fighter aircraft. Development of the variant started after India signed a deal with Russia in 2000 to manufacture 140 Su-30 fighter jets. The first Russian-made Su-30MKI variant was accepted into the Indian Air Force in 2002, while the first indigenously assembled Su-30MKI entered service with the IAF in 2004. In 2007, the IAF ordered 40 additional MKIs. As of July 2010, the IAF has 124 MKIs under active service with plans to have an operational fleet of 280 MKIs by 2015. The Su-30MKI is expected to form the backbone of the Indian Air Force's fighter fleet to 2020 and beyond. The aircraft is tailor-made for Indian specifications and integrates Indian systems and avionics as well as French and Israeli subsystems. It has abilities similar to the Sukhoi Su-35 with which it shares many features and components. The Sukhoi/HAL Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) is a fifth-generation fighter being developed by Russia and India. It is a derivative project from the PAK FA (T-50 is the prototype) being developed for the Indian Air Force (FGFA is the official designation for the Indian version). Indian Air Force - LCA Tejas [Full HD]

The HAL Tejas is a lightweight multirole fighter developed by India. It is a tailless, compound delta-wing design powered by a single engine. It came from the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme, which began in the 1980s to replace India's ageing MiG-21 fighters. Later the LCA was officially named "Tejas", meaning "Radiance" by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Tejas has the delta wing configuration, with no tailplanes or foreplanes, and features a single vertical fin. It integrates technologies such as relaxed static stability, fly-by-wire flight control system, advanced digital cockpit, multi-mode radar, integrated digital avionics system, advanced composite material structures and a flat rated engine. The IAF is reported to have a requirement for 200 single-seat and 20 two-seat conversion trainers, while the Indian Navy may order up to 40 single-seaters to replace its Sea Harrier FRS.51 and Harrier T.60. The Tejas achieved a speed of over 1350 kilometres per hour (840 mph) during its sea level flight trials, thus becoming the second supersonic fighter developed indigenously by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited after the HAL Marut.[8] The Tejas was cleared in January 2011 for use by Indian Air Force pilots. It will not reach final operational clearance until 2014 General characteristics Crew: 1 Length: 13.20 m (43 ft 4 in) Wingspan: 8.20 m (26 ft 11 in) Height: 4.40 m (14 ft 9 in) Wing area: 38.4 m² (413 ft²) Empty weight: 6560 kg (14460 lb) Loaded weight ...

The Indian Air Force (IAF; Devanāgarī: भारतीय वायु सेना, Bhartiya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the Indian armed forces. Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Raj and the prefix Royal was added in 1945 in recognition of its services during World War II. After India achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1947, the Royal Indian Air Force served the Dominion of India, with the prefix being dropped when India became a republic in 1950. Since independence, the IAF has been involved in four wars with neighbouring Pakistan and one with the People's Republic of China. Other major operations undertaken by the IAF include Operation Vijay - the invasion of Goa, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus and Operation Safedsagar - against Pakstan in Kargil war, 1999. Apart from conflicts, the IAF has also been an active participant in United Nations peacekeeping missions. The President of India serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the IAF. Ukraine upgrades Indian Air Force An-32 Aircraft(Press TV News)

The third batch of Ukrainian modernized An-32s light transport planes are on the take-off position to fly back to India. Back in 2009, the countries clinched the biggest bilateral deal in Ukrainian aviation history to modernize military cargo planes owned by the Indian Air Force. The upgraded An-32s have updated equipment for operation from airfields up to four thousand meters above the sea level as well as in hot conditions. The upgrades will help in increasing payload carrying capacity of the aircraft from around 6.7 tonnes to 7.5 tonnes and aim to prolong the airplanes' service life to 40 years. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force assures that not a single Ukrainian plane has been meant to participate in any warfare. Ukrainian and Indian officials assured that those military cargo planes are to be used for transportation and humanitarian missions. Experts say India is now actively replacing and upgrading its armed forces which were mostly equipped with Soviet-origin inventory. They say Ukraine has great technical and scientific potential, especially in defence and aviation industries as it inherited the Soviet aeronautics capability. Courtesy:Press TV

Indian Air Force has selected the Rafale as preferred bidder for its 126 Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) requirement (6 squadrons). Under the contract, 18 Rafale aircraft will be supplied to Indian air Force till 2015 in Fly-away condition, whereas remaining 108 will be manufactured in India under transfer of Technology. It is also speculated that at a later stage, India might increase its order by 63 more aircraft (3 squadron) The Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engine delta-wing multi-role jet fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. It is called an "omnirole" fighter by its manufacturer. Introduced in 2000, the Rafale is being produced for both the French Air Force and for carrier-based operations in the French Navy. The Rafale has been used in combat over Afghanistan and Libya. Several upgrades to the radar, engines, and avionics of the Rafale are planned to be introduced in the near-future The Rafale features a delta wing combined with active integrated (close-coupled) canard to maximize maneuverability, while withstanding 9 g or −3.6 g) and maintaining stability in flight. The canard also reduces landing speed to 115 knots (213 km/h; 132 mph); in flight, air speeds as low as 15 kt have been recorded during flight training missions. It is due to this slow flight performance that the Rafale can be operated from runways and landing strips as short as 400-metre (1300 ft). The Indian Air Force purchased six C-130J-30s in early 2008 at a cost of up to US$1.059 billion for its special operations forces in a package deal with the US government under its Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. India has options to buy six more of these aircraft. The Indian government decided not to sign the Communications Interoperability and Security Memorandum of Agreement (CISMOA), which resulted in the exclusion of high precision GPS and other sensitive equipment. The IAF may add similar equipment to the aircraft after delivery. In October 2011, India announced its intent to exercise the option for the six additional aircraft, following the credible performance of the C-130J in the 2011 Sikkim earthquake relief operations. IAF will operate 77 Squadron of C-130J aircraft. ***Watch FULL HD in Full Screen*** LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE and Make FAVOURITE.

Indian Air Force : Dassault Mirage 2000s [Full HD]

IAF purchased 49 Mirage 2000s, including 42 single-seaters and 7 two-seaters in the 1980s. In 2004, the Indian government approved purchase of ten more Mirage 2000Hs, featuring improved avionics, particularly an upgraded RDM 7 radar. The IAF named the Mirage the "Vajra", meaning "Thunder" in Sanskrit. India also purchased appropriate stores along with the fighters, including ATLIS II pods and laser-guided weapons. In 2006 it was reported that the Indian Air Force was close to finalizing a EUR 1.5 billion (about $2 billion) deal to upgrade its fleet of 51 Mirage-2000 'Vajra' fighter jets.
