Pyrosomes and salps are pelagic (free-swimming) tunicates or sea squirts. All species are open ocean animals that rarely come close to shore, and all are colonial, although many salps can also be solitary. Pyrosomes are colonies of tiny animals that form hollow tubes sealed at one end - the species in the first part of the video is giant pyrosome Pyrostremma spinosum - it can reach 30m in length! Salps have much larger individuals than pyrosomes, individuals pump water through themselves. Colonies are formed of chains of individuals. Salps can form very high densities under good conditions, and are an important oceanic food source for fish. These animals were filmed off the Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania, Australia - one of the few areas in the world where a wide range of oceanic gelatinous plankton, including ctenophores and jellyfish, comes close to shore, and is easily seen while diving. Marcus Luttrell's Dog Murdered by Punks in Texas (April 5, 2009) PART 1
On April 5, 2009, four teenage males approached Luttrell's property and fatally wounded his dog, Dasy, with a .357 Magnum revolver at approximately 1 AM Each letter of the name "Dasy" represents one of the fallen members of his team. She was given to him in recovery to help him through rehabilitation. Luttrell proceeded to track the individuals through four counties in his truck until Texas Rangers apprehended the individuals. Upon arrest, the suspects verbally threatened Luttrell's life and taunted him. Alfonso Hernandez was arrested on-scene and charged with animal cruelty whilst Michael Edmonds has not yet been charged. Today on Glenn Becks show, he had former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell on to talk about what happened to him last week. You see it seems some dumb-ass punks were driving the Texas countryside, summarily executing dogs. Marcus chased these punks over four counties, and he nearly shot the driver. Finally the Rangers caught up with these punks in Huntsville, TX and the idiots in handcuffs were laughing about it. They said they would also kill Marcus. Do these douchebags not know about Marcus? Dickhead Alfonso Hernandez was charged with Cruelty to Animals and is facing up to two years in prison, and dickhead #2, Michael Edmonds, is currently on the run.

Huge Tomb Discovered at Pachacamac, Peru With Over 80 Mummies

A team of archaeologists has made an incredible find at Pachacamac, near Lima, Peru. Excavating directly in front of the temple, the team found an enormous burial chamber completely intact and containing more than 80 individual remains as well as ceramic vessels, animal remains, copper and gold alloy artifacts, and masks. A dozen newborn babies and infants were found around the perimeter, and the team is investigating whether they had been sacrificed. Certain remains show the individuals suffered from serious illness, consistent with other skeletons found on the site, which researchers believe may have been a site where the sick sought a cure, a "Prehispanic Lourdes." The artifacts date the tomb to around 1000 AD, and miraculously survived pillaging during the colonial period. UNESCO is reviewing the larger Pachacamac site for World Heritage Status—not surprising, especially considering this latest find.

Caught in the act - why citizens MUST retain the right to film police & government officials
Radley Balko, a civil libertarian best known for his work at Reason, Cato, and the Huffington Post, talks with John Stossel about the need for citizens to be able to film the police. In one clip, they show how an officer intentionally throws himself into a bicyclist while proclaiming the cyclist intentionally rammed him. In another clip, a policeman denies drawing his gun at a snowball fight when the video clearly shows that he did. Should the police feel afraid to act if they are filmed? If they are doing their job correctly, why should they? At the end of the show, Stossel dicusses the corruption of Nixon's vice president Spiro Agnew and the corruption he and many other politicians were found guilty of. Isn't it good that we have a record of their corruption so that justice could be served? Shouldn't the same standard be applied to the police? Stossel's final point: individuals deserve privacy, individuals who get public money (such as ACORN administrators) deserve less privacy, and people who receive government money and who have the ability to forcibly control you - and the authority to hold a gun to your head - deserve to be held fully accountable and absolutely should be video recorded.
