Compulsion - Eating
Compulsion was an Irish punk band. They formed in the 1990 by Josephmary (singer) and Sid Rainey (bassist) as Thee Amazing Colossal Men. They signed a contract with Virgin Records, but after winning a lawsuit against their record label, they became "Compulsion" in 1992. Joined by guitarist Garret Lee and drummer Jan-Willem Alkema, they moved to North London and signed to One Little Indian. They released several EPs and two albums. Album: Comforter Don't own rights to any material, but I bought the album after my brother and I had an encounter with one of their raving fans, Limey Shawn. At the time he was working as a roadie for The Bouncing Souls and went crazy (literally) after he saw me wearing one of the bands shirts. After the show, my brother and I were walking around in downtown Mesa Arizona, when we noticed the bands Jewish Community Housing bus rolling down the road, with Limey Shawn standing out of the sunroof (yes I know it's weird but it had a sunroof) raving and screaming like a madman while flailing his arms as they went by. On a later visit to The Nile theater in Mesa, we had a chance to talk to The Bouncing Souls again. They said that Limey Shawn was in a mental institution because of that night he saw his "hometown" bands T-Shirt on me. Then they told us that you could hear him singing on the phone from the mental institute in the beginning of the song "Here We Go" from their album "Maniacal Laughter". Whether this is true or not is up to speculation <b>...</b>
