They emerged as the dominant force in the team events, capturing both the Junior Boys' and Junior Girls' titles, in both overcoming the top seeds to secure victory. Furthermore, in the former, the top seeds were their higher rated compatriots. An all-Chinese Taipei Junior Boys final was the order of affairs with Chinese Taipei 'B' overcoming Chinese Taipei 'A' in a contest that went the full five match distance; the hero of the hour for the victors being 17 year old Lin Hsuan-Ming. Won Crucial Match Matters level at two-all, in the crucial fifth match, he beat Wen Wei-Chieh in a close five games encounter to secure victory for the second team (11-7, 3-11, 12-10, 12-14, 11-6). The two other successes for Chinese Taipei 'B' came from Liao Chen-Ting against the luckless Wen Wei-Chieh (11-9, 11-7, 11-9) in the opening match of the contest and from Lu Po-Hsien in the third match of the encounter. He overcame Hsu Chia-Yen (10-12, 11-5, 11-7, 11-5). Predictable Somewhat predictably, the two successes for Chinese Taipei 'A' were secured by Hung Tzu-Hsiang, the winner earlier in the year in Puerto Rico at the ITTF Junior Circuit Finals.
