
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Japanese community in Winnipeg will hold a charity event for Children in Tsunami Affected Area of Japan The event benefits the students in Otsuchi town in Japan, an area that has been severely affected by last year's earthquake and tsunami. The Exchange District, Winnipeg, Manitoba, April 29th, 2012 (Noon to 11pm). At the Exchange Community Church, 75 Albert Street (2nd floor). The Japanese community will hold a charity event that will be composed of a silent auction of artworks donated by Manitoban artists, live performances, a photograph exhibition of the devastated area, and a presentation of the current situation in Japan. The silent auction will include, not only a good selection of professional paintings, drawings, accessories and photographs, but also Sushi restaurant dinner tickets, autographs from professional dancers from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and other attractive goods and services. There will also be a photography exhibition. In this exhibition, each picture will have been selected by, and accompanied with an explanation by a member of the Japanese community in Winnipeg. In addition, there will be refreshments for sale. Sale hours will be from noon to midnight. Proceeds from all sales will go to the Collaboration school in Otsuchi town coordinated by the NPO Katariba. Why we are donating to NPO Katariba?
