When Dan heard about the 9.0 earthquake that devastated his old home in Japan on March 11, 2011, he knew he wanted to help-and a church organization searching for Japanese-speaking volunteers was the perfect fit. Along with his wife and two young sons, Dan traveled to Japan as part of the organization's relief mission and distributed quilts to hundreds of families affected by the disaster. "There's still a lot of work to be done over there," Dan said. "I've been working directly with our buyers here at Sierra Trading Post to get some basic necessities-like shirts, gloves, hats and those sorts of things-and send them over as donations."
