SHAME ON YOU WB FOR NOT RELEASING PORKY'S BEST CARTOON ON VIDEO AND DVD!!!!!! U SUCK! UR GRANDMOTHER WEARS ARMY BOOTS!!! Ok, now that my rant is semi-over, I had to DIG and DIG old videos to find this, after I WANTED TO BUY A REMASTERED VERSION OF THIS and DID NOT find it!!! Anywhere and everywhere I looked there is NO DVD or VIDEO version of this cartoon, and WB didn't include it in ANY of the Amazon Porky DVDs!??? What the hell!? So as a favor to humanity, this is the BEST quality ANYONE can deliver for free, out of a dusty, damp basement; to the world. It took me one day to be able to record from VHS because the Mac 8500 kept malfunctioning, it's a 1995 computer after all, but the quality really didn't suffer much, except for a few frames that show some large pixels. Again this couldn't be helped as I remember I kept adjusting the antenna when I originally recorded it from television in 1991. This video plays at 20 frames per second. Gladly the Mac has a CD burner that can burn CDs that CAN BE READ IN MY WIN7 laptop Yay! One of the best features of the Mac. Originally recorded on 1939 in B&W, but according to IMDB this cartoon wasn't colorized until 1990! However some of these cartoons were colorized in 1968 (thanks to user Badbooking for the tip). I wish there was a source with that information but I can't find anything. The B/W version of this is public domain from Merrie Melodies, and I'm quite sure may not last here as soon as WB realize that they can actually make <b>...</b>

Now before I start getting technical about this and other 78 restorations let me tell you a bit about why I'd even attempt to do this. Im a big fan of the Big Bands to the point I've spent more than 10 years presenting "Swing Type" Radio shows showcasing top swing bands of the day (and today!) playing arrangements that are SOLID! not the same old same old "In the mood" "Sing Sing Sing" stuff oh no sir, in over 1000+ shows I've not trotted out the old "standards" but played top arrangements that you may have never heard. In doing this I would pull out old LP's and Buy loads of CD's, Now i used to get VERY VERY annoyed when I'd hear a 78 that had A LOT of "Work" on it. to the point that all the "Top End" was gone. OK it takes most of the "scratchyness" away yes i agree, but it also kills the music FULL STOP. Now when i was a lad and played 78's quite a bit, If some mad scientist offered me a device that would take away 10 say 20 percent of the surface noise I'd have paid the earth!!.. so now 20 years later why do people think that if its not "clinical clean" Its not a good job?!?!? Well let me tell you as a Audio engineer AND a Muso that almost 70% of my 1000's of CD's are pretty much Junk to my ears. OK Ok you might think I'm mad at this point but when i hear a Sax section sound like it's underwater you might know what i mean. so i spent a few good years recerching how would be the best way to play and clean these 78's for my radio shows. after reading 40 years (1939-1980 <b>...</b>

Jeepers Creepers - Jack Teagarden And The Four Modernaires & Paul Whitman And His Swing. Jeepers Creepers is a popular 1938 song and jazz standard. The music was written by Harry Warren and the lyrics by Johnny Mercer, for the movie Going Places. It was premiered by Louis Armstrong and has since been covered by dozens of other artists. The Modernaires had their beginnings as a trio in Buffalo, New York, in 1935. Their first engagement was with the Ted Fio Rito Orchestra. The members, Hal Dickinson, Chuck Goldstein, and Bill Conway were called Don Juan-Two and Three. Soon after that, they joined the Ozzie Nelson Band, and became known as The Three Wizards of Ozzie. Next came a stint with Fred Waring, where they recruited Ralph Brewster to make it a quartet, and The Modernaires were a reality. In 1937 they joined Paul Whiteman's musical organization where they were featured on his radio show, and recorded many of the classic songs of that era, a few with Jack Teagarden. Their biggest break came in 1939 when the legendary Glenn Miller engaged them to record a tune called "It's Make Believe Ballroom Time," a sequel to the original "Make Believe Ballroom," which they had recorded earlier for Martin Block's Big Band Show of the same name, on WNEW New York.
