antonio carlos jobim - wave unknown fantastic recording

This is my favourite recording of Antonio Carlos Jobims Wave which I couldn't find on youtube, so I decided to post it. I always thought this was the main version from his album Wave. Then I found out it wasn't, and I have tried, with no luck, to find out whose arrangement this is. Does anyone know who this is?

Águas de Março - Elis Regina and Tom Jobim - Aguas de Marco - Waters of March

FOR STEREO, click here: vimeo.com "Águas de Março" is a Brazilian song composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Jobim wrote both the English and Portuguese lyrics. The lyrics do not tell a story, but rather present a series of images that form a collage; nearly every line starts with "É..." ("[It] is..."). In both the Portuguese and English versions of the lyrics, "it" is a stick, a stone, a sliver of glass, a scratch, a cliff, a knot in the wood, a fish, a pin, the end of the road," and many other things, although some specific references to Brazilian culture (festa da cumeeira, garrafa de cana), flora (peroba do campo) and folklore (Matita Pereira) were intentionally omitted from the English version, perhaps with the goal of providing a more universal perspective. All these details swirling around the central metaphor of "the waters of March" can give the impression of the passing of daily life and its continual, inevitable progression towards death, just as the rains of March mark the end of a Brazilian summer. Both sets of lyrics speak of the water being "the promise of life," perhaps allowing for other, more life-affirming interpretations, and the English contains the additional phrases "the joy in your heart" and the "promise of spring," a seasonal reference that would be more relevant to most of the English-speaking world. The inspiration for "Águas de Março" comes from Rio de Janeiro's rainiest month. March is typically marked by sudden storms with heavy rains and strong ...

Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim (born January 25, 1927 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil December 8, 1994 in New York City), also called Tom Jobim, was a Brazilian composer, arranger, singer, pianist and perhaps the greatest legend of bossa nova. Jobims compositions, many performed by João Gilberto, gave birth to the genre in the early 1960s. Jobims roots were planted firmly in the works of Pixinguinha, a legendary musician and composer who, in the 1930s, began the development of modern Brazilian music. He was also influenced by the music of French composer Claude Debussy and by jazz. Jobim found prominence when he teamed up with writer and poet Vinicius de Moraes in providing part of the music for the play Orfeu de Carnaval (1956), that later gained wide recognition in the film Black Orpheus. The lyrics for his most popular songs were written by de Moraes. American jazz singers Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra prominently featured Jobims songs on their albums Ella Abraca Jobim (1981) and Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim (1967), respectively. Jobim is recognized the world over as one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. His first album, Sinfonia Do Rio De Janeiro, was recorded in 1954, with Billy Blanco. Jobim was buried in the Cemitério São João Batista in Rio de Janeiro. The International Airport of Rio de Janeiro is now named in his honor. How Insensitive" in English, (although the Portuguese word "Insensatez" really means 'absurdity' or 'folly') is a bossa nova jazz standard composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim, loosely based on Frederic Chopin's Prelude No.4 with lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes. Antonio Carlos Jobim - Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars)

Antonio Carlos Jobim - Corcovado (Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars) "Corcovado" (known in English as "Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars") is a bossa nova song written by Antonio Carlos Jobim. The English lyrics were written by Gene Lees. The US chart version was by Andy Wiliams. Quiet nights of quiet stars quiet chords from my guitar floating on the silence that surrounds us. Quiet thoughts and quiet dreams quiet walks by quiet streams and a window that looks out on the mountains and the sea, oh how lovely This is where I want to be here with you so close to me until the final flicker of life's ember. I who was lost and lonely believing life was only a bitter tragic joke, have found with you, the meaning of existence, oh my love Blanka Medak painting is on this video

Wave by Jobim - McCoy Tyner Style

Midi file, notation file and backing track file available at www.lot2learn.com McCoy Tyner is one of may favorite musicians. His phenomenal technique and high energy playing is unmistakable. I recently heard the McCoy Tyner album "Super Trios" featuring a version of the great Jobim song "Wave" and knew I had to give it a try in that style. McCoy plays Wave at a very bright 190 BPM on that album and in the key of C, so that's what I've done here. I had some lighting issues with the video recording so I decided to convert it to grayscale for clarity. I've placed the chord changes on the top of the video and they are fairly accurate although I may have added a #9 instead of a b9 on some of the chords. For the tag at the end I give a little nod to "A Love Supreme". ;-) Technical notes Roland FP-4 digital Piano using internal sounds.
