John Adams is a 2008 American television miniseries, chronicling most of President John Adams's adult life and his role in the founding of the United States. It was directed by Tom Hooper. Kirk Ellis wrote the screenplay based on the book John Adams by David McCullough. The biopic of John Adams and the story of the first fifty years of the United States was broadcast in seven parts by HBO between March 16 and April 20. John Adams received generally positive reviews, and many prestigious awards. As of 2009, the show has won more Emmy awards, thirteen, than any other miniseries, and four Golden Globe awards.

John Adams' "On the Transmigration of Souls" is meant to be a "memory space" - a place to be free of media influence and opinions - for the 9/11 attacks. I thought this was an effective way of creating that space. So free your mind and watch the 5 ish minute portion of this composition with the addition of pictures. from wikipedia: On the Transmigration of Souls (2002): This piece commemorates those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York. It won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Music as well as the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Composition. Adams was the first composer to have earned the latter award three times, having previously won the award for El Dorado (1998) and Nixon in China (1989). An excerpt from John Adams' 1995 opera "The Death of Klinghoffer," based on the hijacking of the Achille Lauro in 1985. The libretto is by Alice Goodman, and this 2003 film version was written and directed by Penny Woolcock. In this scene, Mrs. Klinghoffer reacts to the news of her husband's death, kept from her until after the hostages were released. The singer is Yvonne Howard.

I will gladly keep comments open if people don't post drivel like that. Whatever you think of his views, he was an American Patriot instrumental in the founding of this nation. If people want to go back to posting comments about how he should have been killed earlier, the comments will get disabled again. Hamilton, who was always ahead of the curve, tells Jefferson why the newly formed United States needs a Treasury and centralized government in the HBO miniseries, John Adams. Jefferson always suspected Hamilton and the Treasury were corrupt, but upon ascending to the presidency, his own Secretary of Treasury, Albert Gallatin, called it the most perfect system ever formed and any changes would be devastating. Jefferson had no choice but to cede to Hamilton's system. For more on Hamilton, pick up Ron Chernow's brilliant biography on one of the great patriots of all time.
