And on both occasions, he cried -- a lot. There is a tradition of politicians crying in America and it often ends with getting beat at the polls. Already some of the incoming speaker's supporters are getting worried that the Ohio Republican's penchant for showing his emotions makes him look weak. Others, however, have championed Boehner for his willingness to be real. "This is not exactly the first impression you want to make to the American people," said Republican strategist Ed Rollins. "We've seen his sensitive side enough already. But a sensitive side isn't what the country wants to see in a strong leader. He's got to show strength and leadership and a willingness to stand up to the president. You never saw Pelosi crying" On Sunday night in a lengthy "60 Minutes" interview, the Speaker-designate broke down twice, talking ...

House Votes to Stop Student Loan Rates from Doubling

Today the House "ignored a veto threat" and passed a measure to stop new student loan rates from doubling this summer. The bill pays for extending current rates by cutting a slush fund the president himself proposed cutting from ObamaCare -- a law that's making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers, including recent college graduates. The Laura Ingraham Show - John Boehner strikes back at Obama over circumventing Congress

@1:06 - Boehner: I thought we were a nation of laws and that our country was governed by our Constitution. And as I have been around my district and the country this year, there's more of an interest in our founding principles than at any time in my political career. And when you talk about the founding principles, you realize that Article I gives the Congress of the United States the power of the purse and that the president has powers under Article II, and this idea that you are just going to go around the Congress is just, it's almost laughable. And so we are keeping a very close eye on the administration to make sure they are following the law and following the Constitution. @2:48 - Ingraham: Are you saying that the president, with his approach today, from what you know of it, is acting around his Constitutional parameters and violating those parameters? Boehner: Well I have great concerns that he may be. And I know that our committees of jurisdiction...are looking at these proposals to make sure that the president isn't exceeding his authority. @3:27 - Ingraham: What will you do if you believe he is exceeding his authority? What recourse do you have? Boehner: We've got an appropriations process that's under control here where we have the ability to limit their use of funds to try to bring this administration to heel. @3:46 - Boehner: I've had my share of disappointments this year, but I gotta tell you what, there is nothing that has disappointed me more over the last ...

John Boehner Likens His Caucus To '218 Frogs In A Wheelbarrow'

When asked about his leadership and a recent article in National Journal questioning whether he's capable of controlling his caucus or not, Speaker of the House John Boehner came up with this rather odd metaphor: Boehner Compares His Caucus To '218 Frogs In A Wheelbarrow': In an interview scheduled to air on ABC's 'This Week', House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) compared his sometimes unruly GOP caucus to "218 frogs in a wheelbarrow," the number of votes needed to pass a bill in the House. "I've never been shy about leading," Boehner said. "But you know, leaders need followers. And we've got 89 brand new members. We've got a pretty disparate caucus. It's hard to keep 218 frogs in a wheelbarrow long enough to get a bill passed."

The Tea Party vs. John Boehner

The Tea Party held a rally outside the Capitol Building today to demand that congressional Republicans demand significant cuts in federal spending. The outlook is bad. House Republicans are fighting to hold on to the $61 billion in spending cuts they approved in February, a mere rounding error in a budget totaling about $3.8 trillion. Today's rally shows how the Tea Party has continued the fight to make itself heard in Washington. But in Ohio there's a new focus: local politics. "I have no expectation of anything coming out of congress that's going to be very close to what I'd like to see happen," says Chris Littleton, president of both the Cincinnati Tea Party and the Ohio Liberty Council, which is an umbrella group of 65 Tea Party and other activist groups in the buckeye state. "But we can have a greater degree of effect at the state level." The Ohio Liberty Council is appointing a designated representative in every congressional and state senate district; Tea Party groups across Ohio are throwing support behind mayoral, city council, and school board candidates, with the intention of effecting policy but also building a farm team for higher office; and city and county Tea Party organizations are breaking apart into more localized groups comprised of precinct and block captains who regularly go door-to-door to court the votes of their neighbors. However, the Ohio Tea Party is attempting to influence one local politician with outsized influence on the national stage ...

A Response to Rep. John Boehner: I'm an American, and I support a Public Option.

PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS VIDEO. On October 1, House Minority Leader John Boehner said in a press availability, "I'm still trying to find the first American to talk to who's in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or the administration... I've not talked to one, and I get to a lot of places and I've not had anyone come up to me -- I know I'm inviting it -- and lobby for the public option." Well, some of Mr. Boehner's constituents decided to take him up on his offer and rally outside his district office in West Chester, Ohio, delivering over 1800 signatures of people in his district who support a public option. Tool Time: Boehner, Norquist is Random Guy

John Boehner was asked about reports that the Super Committee was looking at tax increases to reduce the deficit. He signaled that might happen. That's when MSNBC's Luke Russert asked if taxes increases would violate Grover Norquist's "No New Taxes" pledge, the pledge that almost every Republican in Congress has signed. Norquist is the President of Americans for Tax Reform and Boehner wants us to believe that 238 House members have signed the pledge, but he still doesn't know who Grover Norquist is?

John Boehner Scam Ron Paul The Federal Reserve Inflation & The US Economy

John Boehner Scam Ron Paul and the Federal Reserve. www.infowars.com Infowars.com December 3, 2010 The fact than an establishment lackey like Speaker-apparent John Boehner would fight against those in Congress attempting to challenge the power of the Federal Reserve is no surprise, but Boehner's reported attempt to block Ron Paul from gaining the chair of a key subcommittee dealing with monetary policy is absolutely disgusting. Ron Paul has proven to be the grassroots favorite with the people, has repeatedly won GOP-straw polls for president, and no doubt played a significant role in winning tea party support for GOP candidates during the midterm elections. But he is being blocked precisely because he poses a threat to the Federal Reserve and establishment power in general. John Boehner, on the other hand, is little more than a Newt Gingrich-acolyte who uses the conservative-name of the Republican party to uphold the false two-party paradigm while expanding big government. Thus, in another fight for a real voice in the Federal Government, the Alex Jones Show has initiated another search term to draw attention to this unfair inner-party tactic against Ron Paul. Please search "John Boehner Scam" and contact his office to demand that he cease this blatant attempt to silence the will of the people by rendering either Ron Paul or the subcommittee he would head virtually powerless. As Bloomberg's Business Week just reported, John Boehner is said to be working behind the scenes ...

House Speaker John Boehner used his weekly press conference Thursday to rip into President Barack Obama, saying his recent trips were "pathetic." He charged Barack Obama with using the student loan bill promotion tour to advance his political agenda. Democrats countered by saying that this is what "all presidents do."
