This videos shows how MapQuest will recalculate your route when you miss a turn. The basic issue here is that it appears MapQuest only downloads a small area of roads surrounding your current route. Meaning, if you go off route, it will first try to get you back to that route for the first few attempts. Not until you have reached the "boundaries" of the "close proximity" of maps it downloaded for your original route, will it try to recalculate (rather, create a new) route -- as opposed to just getting you back to the route you were on. update 19 Sept 2010 - RebelSim have released a new firmware version (v1.2) for the Rebel Sim II which now ACTUALLY works to unlock the dell streak (it should also work with any htc, win mobile, and palm pre phone). Check updated video: www.youtube.com update 17 June 2010 - looks like there are issues with the RebelSim blocking incoming calls when on 3G (I'm experiencing them, as well as others). jRin.net compares the video recordings from an iPhone 4S and a Samsung Galaxy S 2. I attached the two phones, one above the other, on a piece of cardboard in order to try to have them to record the same thing at the same time. However, it's obviously not perfect, as the Galaxy S 2 seems to have a slightly wider angle, plus they weren't in the exact same position. (I had to move the galaxy s 2 portion of the clip up in order for it to better match with what the iPhone 4S was showing - not a limitation of either phone, just a limitation of the 'test'.)
