Mozart - "Exultate, Jubilate" KV165 (Ton Koopman) - (1)

WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART (1756-1791) Motet for soprano, orchestra, and organ KV165 (158a) 1. Aria: "exultate, jubliate" 2. Recitativo: "fulget amica dies" Performed by the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg Featuring Luba Orgonasova, soprano Conducted by Ton Koopman *"Exsultate, Jubilate" was written in 1773. This religious solo motet was composed at the time Mozart was visiting Milan. It was written for the castrato Venanzio Rauzzini, Mozart's favourite for his operas. In modern times, it is usually sung by a soprano. There are two versions of this piece: one originally sung by Rauzzini, and one performed by castrato Francesco Ceccarelli for Salzburg in 1779. The second version replaces the oboes with flutes, and the the first two movements are given new words for Trinity Sunday and Christmas. In the present recording, it is the original version being performed.

'Alleluja' - Diana Damrau

NOW FOR THE REAL VIDEO Last little piece of Mozart's 'Exsultate, Jubilate' sung (again, of course, it's me you're reading lol) by Diana Damrau. It's the same piece that used to sound in her official website (www.diana-damrau.com, by the way) intro, just another version she sung in a benefic concert in 2002 with Mehta conducting. (I've kept the applause because I like it. Deal with it lol)
