MEET KATHRYN Kathryn began her training in Augusta, Georgia where she was part of the performing companies at Augusta West Dance Studio and also trained at the Augusta Ballet School. In her junior year of high school she joined the Tremaine Apprentice Company where she had the opportunity to travel around the country to perform and assist with the convention. In late 2008, after securing her first professional role as a supporting dancer in the FAME remake, Kathryn packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles. After concluding filming for FAME, she went right back to training, focusing her time on every style in her craft. As she began to settle into the Los Angeles area, training and auditioning began to open doors for her and presented her with the opportunity to perform with choreographers such as Doug Caldwell, Joelle Martinec, Nichelle Bane, Lillian Manansala, and Mecca Vazie Andrews. Kathryn joined the Urban Poets, a performing arts company, based out of her church, Mosaic. In addition to dancing, she was also invited to model in StagewearLAs 2009 costume catalog. In the latter part of 2009, Kathryn made her way onto the 6th season of "So You Think You Can Dance." Her impeccable work ethic, adaptability, and desire to touch the hearts and souls of America won her the honor of top female dancer for Season 6. Kathryn would humbly state that it was an unexpected blessing. She took it one day at a time, always leaving herself open to embrace the next challenge.Next up for ...

We all are familiar with the STEP UP franchise...with my personal fave being the original that starred the NOW MARRIED Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan...and NOW there is a FOURTH installment of the flick coming out called STEP UP 4EVER. We just learned that "so you think you can dance's" Kathryn Mccormick has signed on to star in the tentatively titled Step up 4ever. STEP UP producer and rock of ages director Adam Shankman confirmed the news via twitter saying "Kathryn McCormick isn't just IN Step Up 4...She's the female lead. Her audition was fantastic. A star is born." "Step Up 3D," the third installment in the franchise, grossed $160 million worldwide on just a $30 million budget, surpassing the previous two films. This is why it should come as no surprise that Disney is developing a fourth installment, called "Step Up 4Ever." No production date has been set but the flick is expected to hit theatres some time in 2012. What do you think of ANOTHER STEP UP movie? Let us know by commenting below! Thanks for hanging out!
