When is a rock climb too hard, the holds too small, the cracks too thin? Black Diamond athletes Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson pushed those physical and mental boundaries to the limit this past fall when they spent nearly two months attempting to free a line on El Capitans southeast face, a 900-meter route (linking up sections of the Dawn Wall and Mescalito) that is likely the hardest big wall free climb in the world, mind-bogglingly stacked with numerous 5.14 pitches. This is the first of a two-part video series of Tommy and Kevin's attempt, with Tommy providing some unique insights into what it's going to take to free this monster line.

In late October/early November 2008 a trio of Black Diamond athletes, Kevin Jorgeson, Matt Segal and Alex Honnold, traveled to sample the famed British gritstone where runouts, groundfalls and surgical technique are all part of the game. Between rain showers and squalls, the trio managed a host of quick repeats of some of the country's hardest rated testpieces, sparking amazement and grading debates throughout the UK.

Enzo Oddo Sends Ambrosia V11 (Fryberger Remix)
Enzo Oddo, prAna's youngest ambassador (15 years old) climbed the Bishop California highball named Ambrosia. The beautiful line on the South face of the Grandpa Peabody boulder was put up by Kevin Jorgeson. Enzo's ascent was the 4th time the boulder was topped out. A route climber for most of his long, illustrious career, Enzo traveled from his home in France to land on California soil February 1st. His first real bouldering trip, he plans to spend the entire month traveling around the Eastern Sierras enjoying the incredible landscape and world class bouldering.
