
The Pasukan Gerakan Khas in Malay or Special Operations Command; SOCOM is an elite counter-terrorism and special operations tactical unit of the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP). The PGK has two distinct special operations detachments; the 69th Commando or Komando 69 and the Special Actions Unit (Unit Tindakan Khas - UTK). 69th Commando Trained in land, sea and air special operation techniques with specialty in jungle warfare, 69th Commando mission is to execute special operation in support of Police's Special Branch fight against subversive organization and terrorist activities, offensive operations using special weapons and tactics, anti-terrorism, counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, close protection and supporting the Malaysian Armed Forces special ops, or infantry force in any security measures. Currently there are 4 infantry squadrons in 69th Commandos with its own logistic unit. 69th Commandos headquarter is based at Northern Brigade in PGA Ulu Kinta, Perak. Area of responsibilities are the northern and eastern states of Peninsular Malaysia. A 69th Commandos small patrol team consist of 6 mens. They are the commander, second in command, radio operator, medic, navigator/tracker and demolition expert.
