Joysticks (1983) Movie

Joysticks 1983 - 88 minutes - Comedy - Rated [R] - Directed by Greydon Clark This film is nearly impossible to find and is a great movie for video nerds and 80's enthusiasts. The quality may look less than standard but this is what it looked like on the DVD. The original transfer was really this bad but adds to the 80's charm. This is represented here in its entirety for film preservation PLOT: Jefferson Bailey (Scott McGinnis) runs the most popular video arcade in town, much to the chagrin of local businessman Joseph Rutter (Joe Don Baker). With his two bumbling nephews, Rutter aims to frame Bailey and have his business shut down. Bailey, however, is wise to Rutter's plan and teams with best buds Eugene (Leif Green) and McDorfus (Jim Greenleaf) to stop this scheme, which also involves a video game duel with punker King Vidiot (Jon Gries). FUN FACTS: Video game company Midway Games allowed the image Pac-Man to be used in the film. Also, they allowed the filmmakers to showcase Satan's Hollow and the unreleased Super PacMan during the film's climactic video game showdown. The film was released theatrically in the United States by Jensen Farley Pictures in March 1983. The film was released on VHS by Vestron Video. Liberation Entertainment released the film on DVD in 2006, but it was quickly pulled off the market due to rights issues.

"Creepy Rick" Mills & "Crypt-Rocker Chris" Flanagan are hands down two of Detroit's most underrated musicians. They appear here with Monster Matt on drums, who was later replaced by "Billy Bones" Bowen who now bashes the skins in their current formation. This core of three are also responsible for their many great off shoot bands including the Volcanos, Screamin' Savage & The Cave Men, The Kaos Killers, The Hellbenders & their most recent group the Meltdowns.
