Roland Lippok (To Rococo Rot) and Bernd Jestram aka Tarwater are gently reserved in any way as their music is greeted by overwhelming praise. There's something extraordinarily contradictory about their music. It's put together mainly from fragments and yet utterly nonchalant in its complexity. It's detached and yet wholly engaging. It's repetitive and yet wonderfully melodic.

Maximilian Hecker does treat songs with care, he's not just dumping melodies upon the tracks. His music is fragile, softy intimate and full hearted. Beautiful and all elegiac to get you boys and girls crying all night.

Take a second for his one... the video might just seem simple but in it ain't. Couch have been around for quite a while and still they are one of Germany's best postrock bands around. Couch can create moments of true beauty. A keyboard melody, a guitar rhythm to explode, as if set in motion by some magnetic force, bringing you to their cruising velocity. The guitar and distorted cymbal crashes set the pace, as an organ creates a fluctuating tone as a backdrop for the simple but astonishingly beautiful melody from the keyboard. The songs keep going on forever. Intrumental postrock at it's best.
Rechenzentrum are Lillevan (video) and Marc Weiser (music and composition). Within the past years the duo has released outstanding, highly acclaimed records in the wide field of experimental electronic music. Formed at the Documenta'97 exhibition, Rechenzentrum search for new processes of music/moving image production, while refining forms of presentation which create on-stage dialogue between audio and video. At the outset of Rechenzentrum they decided and defined our project as a "band" in which audio and video are equally important; we use video as an instrument, and they treat music visually. They release material in numerous formats, testing the possibilities and limitations of each, often involving cooperations with artists based in other media/genres, working with choreographers & dancers, the projected moving image being the only source of light on stage, all sound derived from live intervention.
