Oakley Design has released the first details about their new tuning program for the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Dubbed the LP760-2, the model is a rear-wheel drive supercar that has been stripped of its front differential and related components. Thanks to this change, Oakley estimates the car will lose approximately 85 kilograms (187 pounds). Besides the strict diet, the 6.5-liter V12 engine has been equipped with an optimized ECU. Official specifications haven't been announced, but the company is targeting an output of 760 hp (567 kW / 771 PS) and 745 Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 70 hp (52 kW / 71 PS) and 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). On the styling front, the car will be distinguished by modified bumpers, revised side skirts, and a new rear diffuser. Other highlights include a carbon fiber roof and lightweight alloy wheels with Pirelli PZero tires. No word on pricing, but production will be limited to five units and three have already been sold.

The RS6's 5.0L V10 biturbo engine produced a maximum motive power output of 426 kilowatts (579 PS; 571 bhp) at 6250 to 6700 rpm, and generated 650 newton metres (479 ft·lbf) of torque from 1500 to 6250 rpm, 52 kW (71 PS; 70 bhp) and 150 N·m (111 ft·lbf) more than BMW's naturally-aspirated 5.0L V10 engine.

Chevrolet unveils four models in Paris
Chevrolet has unveiled four new vehicles at the Paris Motor Show. The Cruze hatchback concept previews a production model which will be launched next year. It has sporty styling and a cargo capacity of nearly 400 liters (14.1 cubic feet). Featuring a bold design and a Cruze-inspired cockpit, the Aveo offers a variety of fuel efficient four-cylinder engines. Petrol options include a 1.2-liter with 70 hp (52 kW / 71 PS) and 86 hp (64 kW / 87 PS) as well as a 1.4-liter with 100 hp (75 kW / 101 PS). On the diesel side there's a 1.3-liter rated at 75 hp (56 kW / 76 PS) and 95 hp (71 kW / 96 PS). The facelifted Captiva boasts a redesigned front fascia, a larger grille, modified headlights, and a higher quality interior. Power comes from a 171 hp (128 kW / 173 PS) 2.4-liter petrol or a 2.2-liter diesel rated at 163 hp (122 kW / 165 PS) and 184 hp (137 kW / 187 PS). Sadly, the Orlando loses the edgy styling of the concept but at least greenhouse is carried over. The Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to be produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors and expected to be launched in November 2010 as a 2011 model. Its propulsion system will be based on GM's new Voltec (formerly known as E-Flex) electric automobile platform, which differs significantly from GM's earlier BAS Hybrid and Two-Mode Hybrid systems. For up to the first 40 miles (64 km), the Volt is powered by electrical energy stored in its on-board lithium-ion batteries which are charged by connection to an electrical power outlet. The car's 16 kW·h (8.8 kW·h usable) lithium-ion battery pack can be fully charged by plugging the car into a 120-240VAC residential electrical outlet using the provided SAE J1772-compliant charging cord. No external charging station will be required. With fully charged batteries, enough electrical energy will be stored to power the Volt up to 40 miles (64 km). This distance is capable of satisfying the daily commute for 75% of Americans, whose commute is on average 33 miles (53 km).After 40 miles (64 km), a small 4-cylinder gasoline internal combustion engine creates electricity on-board using a 53 kW (71 hp) generator to extend the Volt's range to more than 300 miles (483 km). The electrical power from the generator is sent primarily to the electric motor, with the excess going to the batteries, depending on the state of charge (SoC) of the battery pack and the power demanded at the wheels.
