Kogan Plays Paganini La Campanella

Rabin, Heifetz, Szeryng, and Koganwere the greatest violinists I ever heard, somehow they stood out a little more than everyone else for some reason. I found out a long time ago how hard Kogan's recordings are to find, and I have been collecting them ever since. The music for this was actually obtained around the year 2000 using napster when it was still legal to use it. I've never seen this for sale ever and I have been collecting violin recordings for a long time. La Campanella means the bell and is actually the third movement of Paganini's second violin concerto and is named this because a bell is played during the main theme of this work, it has always been a favorite of mine and is alot of fun to play. I think the best thing Kogan ever did was the Tchaikovsky concerto from a double cd called "Artist Profile", it is out of print but well worth finding and if you ever get a chance to hear Kogan play the Tchaikovsky get it at all costs. Only Rabin equalled what Kogan did with the Tchaikovsky in my opinion. I have uploaded rare out of print and unreleased recordings that are difficult to find, I hope you like them. Since they are so difficult to find no one should mind me uploading them, if you have issues with me uploading them please send me a message and I will remove them. La Campanella On Steroids ? :-) Liszt Rondo Fantastique "El Contrabandista" Valentina Lisitsa

This is perhaps the MOST unplayable piece of music I ever encountered! La Campanella , or Feux Follets ( both are clearly hinted here) are walk in a park in comparison....Early Liszt, from the period when he honestly thought that piano being a percussive instrument there is no point of making any attempt at legato, and one might as well enjoy frolicking in most head-spinning skips and repeated notes :-) The piece (which is based on Manuel Garcia's popular song) was titled in the first edition as "Op.5 #2". Funny , I think that was the last piece Liszt gave an opus number, anticipating how many works he is going to write :) Liszt intended this piece as a bravura finale for his recitals - but according to many reports , he failed utterly . Too difficult???? LOL A friend of mine who used to present great Soviet artists on their tours in Italy told me that the only person who played it LIVE was Pletnev. But even then Pletnev told him that he quit on this piece , calling it "unplayable". You can check for yourself - the music is available freely here: tinyurl.com Let me know how far you progress, OK ? It makes for an easy sight-reading. But do pay attention to indicated tempo marks. They are truly insane :-) For some fun go to middle of page 22 or page 28 and tell me how you like it :-) A hint... it would make for a hilarious video. Hitting those notes is a gamble no matter how many days spent practicing. La Campanella infamous skips are two octaves shorter .... Liszt recording <b>...</b>

Evgeny Kissin La Campanella

Evgeny Kissin playing "La Campanella" La campanella (meaning "The Little Bell") is the nickname given to the third of six Grandes études de Paganini ("Grand Paganini Etudes"), S. 141 (1851), composed by Franz Liszt. This piece is a revision of an earlier version from 1838, the Études d'exécution transcendente d'après Paganini, S. 140. Its melody comes from the final movement of Niccolò Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 2 in B minor, where the tune was reinforced by a little handbell.

La Campanella Liszt-Busoni Performed by Lhevinne

Ampico roll.I do not usually like or trust reproducing rolls. However, this particular series included several compositions that Josef Lhevinne actually recorded. After comparing his recordings to the rolls,I was convinced that this performance of the Liszt-Busoni La Campanella(which he never recorded)was authentic.Of course, this is not Liszt's conception.

Paganini Concerto No.2 Mvmt. III, Rondo: "La Campanella"

N. Paganini: Concerto No. 2 in B minor op.7 "La Campanella" Mvmt. III Rondo à la clochette or "La Campanella" Jean-Jacques Kantorow, violin Bernard Thomas Chamber Orchestra Subtitled "La Campanella" or "the bell" for the bell-like effects in the 3rd movement Rondo. Niccolò Paganini (October 27, 1782--May 27, 1840) was an Italian violinist, and composer for the violin, whose gifts were so ineffably transcendent that he was rumored to be in league with the devil! Specifically, he revolutionalized violin technique, and was an enigmatic character (one he played to the hilt; his adulation was equivalent to that of a modern day rock star, as in the reception the Beatles received); whose mark on the violin world has yet to even be equalled, much less surpassed (not sure that's even possible). He is to violin what Liszt and Bach are to piano and organ respectively (indeed, the young Liszt was indelibly affected and inspired by Paganini, and went as far as to state that he wished to emulate him on piano). Not just a superlative performer, Paganini's compositions, as stated, revolutionized violin technique such that new sounds, techniques and "trickery", theretofore unheard, indeed unimagined, from the violin, were invented. He was also a great orchestrator, very classical, as his orchestrations to his concerti will testify. When bored he was reputed to turn to the guitar and has penned several duets for violin and guitar. The theme from the 3rd movement of this 2nd concerto "la <b>...</b>
