Patrol vs Landcruiser.
This video was shot in the gippsland reigion of the victorian high country. What the camera doesnt pick up is how steep this particular hill is and how slippery it was. It was raining all day before we got there. The hzj75 Landcruiser troopcarrier has a 4.2l naturally aspirated diesel, 33 inch bf goodrich mud terrains and a richmond gears powertrax auto locker up front. The 105 series has 285 75 16 michey thompson mtz's and a 2 inch lift. The Patrol has 33 inch maxxis big horns and a ridge ryder 12000 pound winch. In the patrols defence it was the first chance he had to use the winch so he wanted to see how it went. Without a doubt it would have made it up with momentum aswell. None the less, it gave me enough footage to make the cruisers look better than the patrol just for a laugh :) Also what the camera never saw was the troopys first attempt which was a fail with no traction due to no momentum...... But we wont mention than lol.

We went for our first club run this weekend, the water was higher than usual so we ended up getting turned around as it was well over 4 feet as it was over my hood, the other trucks didn't have a snorkel. We still had a great time and found some mud and other areas to play. Cruisers rock!

Landcruiser crossing Magela Creek in Kakadu National Park
Driving through Magela Creek in a Landcruiser at the end of the Wet Season in Kakadu National Park. During the Wet season, Magela Creek cuts the road between Jabiru and the East Alligator area of Kakadu. The creek usually starts running sometime in December and the last water on the road is usually sometime in April. During the Wet this part of the park can be difficult to access. At the start and end of the Wet the area can be accessed by 4wd, but during the main part of the Wet it is generally not possible to ford the Magela as it gets too deep (the water level fluctuates daily and on occasions it is possible to get through, but you also need to be aware of being caught on the other side). Sometimes tour operators run a boat shuttle through the Magela and leave a bus on the other side for the remaining 25km trip up to the East Alligator. Of course during a really good Wet even this is not possible as there are other creeks to cross on the way and the East Alligator river can flood much of the area further up. For the rest of the year the road is dry and most tourists speed across the creek unaware there is even a creek there as during the dry there is little if any sign of water. During the Wet, the once dry paperbark forests are transformed with an under carpet of beautiful lilies and the whole area comes alive. Extreme Landcruiser: Big 44" Tires for Arctic Trucks
We are building a Arctic Style truck out of a Lexus LX450 and this was our first mount up of the 44" tires. We took it to Toyotafest in Long Beach and people were asking questions about the fitment. Jason Myres recorded some footage and made this video out of it. These tires are Gateway Gumbo Monster Mudders sized 44/18.50-15LT. We later upped the rim size to 16.5" diameter to clear the calipers and are running Dick Cepek Fun Country 44/18.50-16.5LT

2006 Toyota Land Cruiser 100. Start Up, Engine, and In Depth Tour. In April 1998, the 100 series Land Cruiser was introduced to replace the 8-year-old 80 series. There are two distinct versions of the 100-series, the 100 and the 105. The two versions look very similar, but there are significant differences under the bodywork. Despite these differences and official model names, both the 100 and 105 are collectively known as the 100 series. The 105 carried over the majority of its chassis and powertrain from the 80-series with coil suspended solid axles front and rear, and straight-6 petrol and diesel engines. These models were only sold in African, Australian and South American markets. The 100 models were fitted with a slightly wider chassis, independent front suspension (IFS) and two new engines. The change to IFS was a first for a Land Cruiser, and was made (in combination with rack-and-pinion steering) to improve on-road handling. However it also limited the vehicle's off-road capability and durability, hence the decision to offer the solid axle 105 models alongside the IFS 100 models in some markets. The table below identifies the range of 100 and 105 models and their worldwide availability. The introduction of a V8 engine was also a first for a Land Cruiser, and was specifically intended to improve sales in the North-American market, where it was the only engine available. This is a quick video I made up after a quick half day trip we recently did in the victorian high country. The nissan terrano 2 is my wifes car. It has a 2.7 litre turbo diesel, old man emu suspension and 31 inch firestone destination mud terrain tyres. The maroon 80 series is my brother inlaws car. It is a factory 4.2l turbo diesel in stock condition (immaculate), but not for long, lift and muddies will replace the cooper discovery all terrain tyres soon. The bronze 80 series is my brothers first car. He has fitted the 2 inch iron man lift kit and 33 inch mickey thompson mtz mud terrain tyres.
