Lapis Lazuli mining in Sari-i-Sang in northern Afghanistan
Years of war and exploitation have degraded many of Afghanistan's natural resources. But among the still highly prized assets is the lapis lazuli gemstone which has been mined in northern Afghanistan for 6000 years. The only pure source of the stone lies in Sar-i-Sang in the Kocha valley of northern Afghanistan. James Bays makes the dangerous journey to the mines and finds men who risk their lives to get to these gems. To get to the world's largest lapis lazuli mine - you have to go on a gruelling journey. It takes more than 12 hours from the nearest town by road, although there are no real roads to speak of. These are mountain passes - some them are extremely treacherous - and they can only be navigated slowly and extremely carefully. Finally, you drop down into the Kocha valley - and the mines at Sari-i-Sang, where a village has been built to house the hundreds of men involved in the search for lapis lazuli. The gemstone - actually a complex mineral made up of sodium and aluminium has been highly sought after for thousands of years. The deep ocean blue stones are on sale as jewellery and gift boxes in shops in Kabul, but much of the lapis mined in Northern Afghanistan is smuggled across the border to Pakistan. It may require a bit of luck, but other than that it's pretty straightforward. Leveling your characters helps them to survive, but I was able to do this strategy without anyone dying at lv.38. Key items needed: •Speed Chain - Beat the dance contest in Sol then talk to the Disco King •Spikefish Flute - Exchange for 200 points at the fishing spot near Buma •Dark Talisman - After defeating Songi for the 3rd time, go to the genesis tree in West Voz Forest and get the Dark Stone. Take it to Zalan in Jeremi to change it into the talisman (this lets you summon Jedo)

On the 5th of August 2011, it was confirmed I-Style Project had a vocaloid known as "Aoki" and will be released for Vocaloid3. Aoki Lapis debuted at the Comiket 80. She is part of a joint collaborative project between Japanese search engine site Surfer's Paradise, anime studio Studio Deen, and Nico Nico Douga users, called "i-style Project." Las minas de Lapis Specularis
Documental realizado en el área por la que se distribuyen los diferentes complejos mineros de Lapis Specularis en la provincia de Cuenca, España. El Lapis Specularis es un yeso selenítico explotado en época romana (principalmente siglo I d. C.) mencionado por Plinio en su Historia Naturalis. Esta explotación estuvo localizada fundamentalmente en la Hispania Citerior aunque hoy sabemos de otras minas de estas características en otros lugares del Mediterráneo como Chipre, Sicilia, Capadocia e incluso en África, si bien, a día de hoy el mineral de mayor calidad es el hispano. En esta explotación jugó un importante papel la ciudad hispanorromana de Segóbriga, alrededor de la cual se distribuyen los complejos mineros de Lapis Specularis. El lapis specularis comportó diferentes usos en el Imperio Romano entre los que destaca como sistema de acristalamiento, como elemento decorativo y estético para revestimiento de edificios o en pavimentos en forma de virutas. Además, mediante la calcinación de sus placas se obtenía escayola, yeso para molduras, vaciados y enyesado de paredes.
