I wanted to do a video on fishing a drop shot to early prespawn to late post spawn, I just couldn't get the fish to eat a 4" in. zoom trick worm. I started to wacky rig it and the bass went crazy, I just wasn't getting the type of bites I would like.I took off the weight and started using Skinny Bear shad eye II and Zoom trick worm to put a whipping on some nice fish. I Hope you enjoy to days show, and use the techniques given to catch hook into largemouth in your area. Largemouth bass nesting in flooded vegetation with the males guarding eggs and fry. Most people think of bass spawning in a fanned out saucer shaped nest, but they're also able to skip nest construction and spawn directly on vegetation if conditions are right. Some of the suspended particles are actually zooplankton (animal plankton) and if you look closely you may be able to see them darting around. Zooplankton are the primary food source for many juvenile fish including largemouth bass fry.

These are some of the strikes that were caught on camera, including a 9lber being caught. Walking baits rigged on 15lb LFT Powersilk mono line and my favorite topwater rod, a Dobyns Champion 704CB were used to land all these bass. Walking the bait at a medium to slow retrieve was the best for triggering the big strikes.

A Huge bass I caught on my 24 inch pole with 6lb yellow line. I faught with this fish for 5-10 minutes and finally got it to the hole. I wasn't fishing for bass so I just had my 4 inch auger. This thing is 16 1/2 inches wide in girth so clearly it wouldn't have fit through the hole. So my uncle held on to the fish while I drilled a hole right next to the original. Just when My auger went through all the ice I accidentaly hit the bass with my auger blades just under the ice. Resulting in that big gash in it's stomach. I talked to a taxedermist today and he said that they could fix that up no problem. But the only thing that's going to be bad is the cost. But im willing to do it. A good friend of my dads and a good fisherman thinks that this bass was around 10 pounds in the summer. This is by far the biggest bass I've caughten. And it's amazing that my 6 lb test line and my 3/4 of a inch bibbet held onto this beast. Thank's for watching and hopefully I can get it mounted. Subscribe to Trapperman9!
