The French officer Jules Brunet played an active role during the Boshin War, leading the rebellion against the Imperial Nippon, in 1868-69. The Satsuma Rebellion (西南戦争, Seinan Sensō (Southwestern War), was a revolt of Satsuma ex-samurai against the Meiji government starting on January 29, 1877 , 9 years into the Meiji Era. It was the last, and the most serious, of a series of armed uprisings against the new government. The Rebellion led by Saigo Takamori -ex pro-Meiji officer- was finally crushed on September 24, 1877 in Kyushu.

It mainly focuses on the samurai in the movie and their way of life (Bushido). This is my first vid that was edited using the program Edius 4.
