how to make a home made lava lamp cheaply and easily, its pretty cool and you would probably find these things in your kitchen. STUFF YOU NEED: an glass to put your stuff in water washing up liquid (or anything heavier than water that isnt too heavy) vegetable OR olive oil vitamin C tablet (optional) INSTRUCTIONS: 1. half fill a glass with water 2. pour about a quarter of the glass with vegetable oil/olive oil 3. pour another quarter of the glass with washing up liquid (note that the washing liquid goes in AFTER the water and vegetable/olive oil) 4. when everything slows down a little place a vitamin C tablet into the glass and make sure its buried in the washing up liquid. it will dissolve and the bits of the tablet will float to the top carrying some washing up liquid to the top, which will then sink and the process starts over again (note that you don't exactly need a vitamin C tablet but its good to use one anyway) it looks a bit like a lava lamp, cool eh? this is something great that you can do when your board because its fun and easy to use, its nice and entertaining to look at aswell :-)

I used my Sony HDR-SR11 to "film" my lava lamp for just over 5 hours at the highest quality setting. I then imported the file right into Pinnacle Studio 12 and sped it up to the maxiimum 500% speed, which I output as a .AVI file (still about 12.5gig file) and then imported THAT file into Pinnacle and sped it up 500% and output a file as if it was going to be a blu-ray disc, but only burned the image to my hard drive. The resulting 850 megabyte blu-ray movie file (.M2TS) is what is here. Look close at the bottom of the image where you can see convection currents moving around in the parafin. MAKE SURE TO WATCH IN HD!!!!

Antacid pills: we use Alka seltzer brand (it is a pill for pain relief when you eat too much/ have upset stomach) You can buy it in any pharmacy or drugstore ..if you don't have this around your store... I guess you can use Redoxon (vit C fizzy tablet) but the water will be orange (so no need to use the food coloring-- unless u like to make other combination from orange color) Please watch the young children when handling the pills and oil..
