legsbluetrain and I decided to take a road trip to railfan somewhere neither of us has been before so he suggested Alabama to railfan with our good friend JgordonAmtrak1. We saw plenty of action and had a good time. It took us a little over 5 hours to get there. NS 339 is seen here being led by KCS 3964. It is headed west to get back on its home rails from which it will then become the M-NSSH.
[Set to HQ] I went railfanning with legsbluetrain and coolduuuude today to catch a few trains for the last time of 2009. We caught two in Pine Bluff,AR and two in Little Rock,AR. Here is what we caught. Train 1: NS 9057 leads a baretable train southbound. Ive never seen a baretable train led by pure NS here in Pine Bluff,AR. It was a good catch to start the day. What a wimpy K5LA. Train 2: NS 9363 leads a manifest on the Little Rock Subdivision headed for the yard in Little Rock,AR. Nice K5LA on it. Train 3: UP 7080 leads a ballast train also headed to the yard in Little Rock,AR. Nice P3 on it. Train 4: (Train Horn vs Car Horn) UP 3865 leads the last intermodal of the day southbound as it passes us in downtown Pine Bluff,AR. legsbluetrain was in his car as it passed us and he blew his car horn against the train horn. As you can see the train won. 2009 was a pretty good year for me train-wise. I caught 4 heritage units and many good consists. Not to mention I met many new friends and fellow Railfans. This crossing used to have just a bell,now it has signals.The ambulance was responding to a call across the track at the next crossing at the park,it got across in time.
Part of the signal was not working on the opposite side of the crossing.I called it in a signal maintainer came and repaired it.

After receiving a heads up call from a friend, legsbluetrain, coolduuuuude, and I set up and waited for it to arrive. After the previous train passed, we could see the light of the lead unit on the windmill train. We drove to 2nd Avenue and caught it there while legsbluetrain caught it at the crossing by Jefferson Park. Location: Pine Bluff, AR Filmed: 7/10/10
[Set to HQ] Music: Say Something - Drake & Timbaland This is the annual Santa Train done by the Arkansas Midland Railroad. It is seen arriving and departing Warren,AR. The Arkansas Midland Railroad performs this event every year. There will be more videos added later of this train. Legsbluetrain and I followed this train to McGehee,AR. Check out the horn on the lead engine. Im not exactly sure what it is but I think that its an Leslie S3L. The horn has two big bells facing backwards and a third smaller bell facing forward. Any suggestions??? NOTE: The person that you see running is legsbluetrain. He was trying to get ahead of the train and he crossed at the crossing. Please enjoy and leave comments.
