At the request of Boston Pops conductor Arthur Fiedler, Dr. Anderson arranged this famous piece consisting of nine familiar Christmas melodies. This first recorded version by Anderson was released over two sides of a single 78rpm and 45rpm record in time for the 1952 holiday season. Forgotten Dreams by Leroy Anderson (1908-1875) Leroy Anderson is one of America's greatest 20th century composers. Early in life, Anderson was a linguist, working towards a PhD in German and Scandinavian languages at Harvard. As a graduate student, he worked as a music tutor at Radcliff and directed the Harvard University Band. Anderson's band arrangements bought him to the attention of The Boston Pop's director Arthur Fiedler; a medley of Harvard songs was the first of many arrangements and compositions performed by the Pops. Anderson's blossoming musical career was interrupted by World War II : he worked as a translator in the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps. His piece Forgotten Dreams is based on a poem by the same name: ....One day you loved her, one day you lost her, And now you wonder why Forgotten tears won't dry. They keep returning, the flame still burning: Though love has said goodbye, Forgotten dreams won't die.

"Syncopated Clock" was composed by Leroy Anderson, an American composer of short, light orchestral pieces. He's probably most famous for this piece and "Sleigh Ride". The arrangement of the main theme and the first bridge is my own. The second bridge was arranged by my husband, brilliantly putting the melody in the treble while the main theme is played in the bass. You can find orchestras, as well as piano, playing this on YouTube, but to my knowledge this is the only guitar arrangement. Sorry, but there is no tab for it....it's all in my head! Erich Kunzel, Jr. (March 21, 1935 -- September 1, 2009) was an American orchestra conductor. Called the "Prince of Pops" by the Chicago Tribune, he performed with a number of leading pops and symphony orchestras, especially the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (CPO), which he led for over 44 years. In 1965, Kunzel began the country's first winter pops series, the "8 O'Clock Pops". When the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra board of trustees created the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra in 1977, Kunzel was named conductor. The Pops became the larger of Cincinnati's two orchestras, as all of Max Rudolf's symphony orchestra also played for the Pops year-round. At the invitation of Arthur Fiedler in 1970, Kunzel guest-conducted over 100 concerts with the Boston Pops Orchestra.[3] He remained active with symphony, leading the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (as Principal Pops Conductor) from 1982 to 2002. From the beginning, Kunzel strove to expand the Cincinnati Pops' reach worldwide, with nearly 90 recordings on the Telarc label, most of which became bestsellers.
