Which Captain's License should I obtain is a question that we often hear. The staff at Mariners Learning System recommends that you seek the highest-level license that you can qualify for. There are a couple of options depending on your citizenship status and boating experience. The two main captain's licenses issued by the Coast Guard are the Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels also know as the Six-pack or Charter Boat Captain's License and the 25/50/100 Ton Master License. Well after getting Silvers constantly, I decided to make things harder for myself by aiming for Golds. The driving still is not brilliant, if anything, it goes to show it doesnt take amazing skills to get all Golds on this...The old S Licenses were definatley much harder.

S-10: Applied Overtaking - Special Stage Route 5 This is anexample of how to achieve gold on this license test - recorded live. Played with a regular sixaxis controller and recorded with an HDPVR. Default driving options were used (unless stated otherwise below) other than manual transmission. Tips: General special license tip: The key to all of these licenses is learning the track. Give yourself a few laps in order to learn the basics of each track. Even if you're lagging behind the other cars keep going and finish the lap. This way you don't have to worry about having a good run going and blowing it in the last few corners because you weren't familiar with them. Set your traction control to 1 or off. You may also have to adjust the brightness of your screen in order to actually see anything on the track while driving this one. This car stops on a dime so brake late into most of the corners. You should be able to pass most of the cars in the first few corners. After you get through the tunnel pass the cars on the outside of the next left-hand corner. Take your time through the next few turns but don't lose sight of the car in front of you. The second half of the track is made up of a lot of sharp turns where you can make up a bit of time. Try to time your entries just right so that you can be beside the car you're wanting to pass just as you enter the corner. You should be able to use this method to pass the last few cars.
