DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchived.blogspot.com The Lone Ranger is an American western television series starring Clayton Moore (John Hart from 1952 to 1954) and Jay Silverheels as Tonto. The live-action series initially featured Gerald Mohr as the episode narrator. Fred Foy served as both narrator and announcer of the radio series from 1948 to its finish and became announcer of the television version when story narration was dropped there. This was by far the highest-rated television program on the ABC network in the early 1950s and its first true "hit." Although George W. Trendle retained the title of producer, he recognized that his experience in radio would not be adequate for producing the television series. For this, he hired veteran MGM film producer Jack Chertok. Chertok served as the producer for the first 182 episodes as well as for a rarely seen 1955 color special retelling the origin. Numerous western stars guested on The Lone Ranger. John M. Pickard appeared in different roles in seven episodes. The first 78 episodes were produced and broadcast for 78 consecutive weeks without any breaks or reruns. Then the entire 78 episodes were shown again before any new episodes were produced. All were shot in Utah and California. When it came time to produce another batch of 52 episodes, there was a wage dispute with Clayton Moore (until his death, the actor insisted the problem was creative differences), and John Hart was hired to play the role of the Lone Ranger. Notice the leader embraces him as an equal, so it's not about the leader anymore - it's about them, plural. Notice he's calling to his friends to join in. It takes guts to be a first follower! You stand out and brave ridicule, yourself. Being a first follower is an under-appreciated form of leadership. The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader. If the leader is the flint, the first follower is the spark that makes the fire. The 2nd follower is a turning point: it's proof the first has done well. Now it's not a lone nut, and it's not two nuts. Three is a crowd and a crowd is news. A movement must be public. Make sure outsiders see more than just the leader. Everyone needs to see the followers, because new followers emulate followers - not the leader. Now here come 2 more, then 3 more. Now we've got momentum. This is the tipping point! Lone Wolf - Keep Your Eyes on the Road
The first promo video for Bella Union's Lone Wolf. Made as a tribute to Peter Gabriel's seminal 1986 video 'Sledgehammer', Broken Pixel applied the same techniques as Aardman Animation used on the original production. Many scenes from the original are recreated, including the infamous Chicken Scene, plus lots of new ideas have been incorporated too. The video has been seen and enjoyed by both Peter Gabriel and many of the original animators at Aardman. its extraordinary to see the effort that has gone into this homage to one of the all time great pop videos, Sledgehammer. As Ashley himself says it was a pleasure to work alongside such amazing material, I have only realised after following your work frame by frame, quite how much detail and craft went into the making of Sledgehammer. So thank you for providing the inspiration to me and the millions of others who have enjoyed the video over the years. The original was a tremendous tour de force, made by a great team and led by an extraordinary musician. Ashleys work is clearly a work of love and I hope it generates as much interest for Lone Wolf as the original Sledgehammer video did for Peter Gabriel. David Sproxton Executive Chairman
