Rural Voice on Election 2008


The video was randomly recorded in two villages Mujatati and Kabarikanda of Mymensingh districts from 12-15 December 2008. The rural interviewers expressed their real feeling with instant opinion; could be called Public Demand on Election 2008 of Bangladesh. These rural voices portray the majority voices and vision of election, democracy, reality and future political leadership in Bangladesh. The traditional Bangla spring festival, "Boshonto Uthshob" regularly celebrate in the first day of Falgun ( spring) with enthusiasm. Under the banyan tree of Dhaka university, Charukola Institute every year organize series of culture events with song and dance. The performers and cultural activist wear local dress Fatua and Shari. Ashura


Thousands people with colorful flags and forged war weapons gathers in the Hussani Dalan and start grief really of Ashura. Grameen Concert


In rural Bangladesh the music band know as, "Ganer Dol". The main vocal of the singer is generally team leader, called boiati or baul or gaiok. The group use local musical instruments like ektara, harmonium, tobla and dukduki. The singers are farmer and sing song occasionally during their leisure, however respected as spirited men as they speed the ethical words, mystical practices and moral teaching through songs. But the reality, the singer who takes singing as profession always struggle with poverty and suffer for minimum existence. Most of Ganer Dol has at least one or two young member who learner but help his Ustat (teacher) during the concert, however encourage and make chorus with senior members. The concert generally organized in the full moon night after harvesting, is a popular event of villagers' entertainment. 21st February, the International Languages day is celebrating with highest honor and dignity nationwide. The millions of people gathers in Shahid Minir ( language monument) to honor the language martyr heroes. 1952 of this day, the lover of mother language sacrifice the lives to protect the Bangla from the grasps of non-democratic Pakistani rulers, who wanted to declare the Urdu as state language instead of Bangala, the language of majority peoples. Cox's Bazar again came to the lime light by competing as a natural wonders of the world. 121 KM lengthy this sandy sea beach is the longest and least-crowded beaches of the world. Still now most part of this beach is virgin, did not captured totally by commercialization. However the Cox's Bazar is most desired tourist spot for all Bangladeshi. The song " O Sakhina " is by Fokir Alamgir, is a popular folk singer of Bangladesh. He has got his own style of music which is the blend of traditional folk song with western instruments. He has released many albums most of which have been immensely popular. Among his famous songs are O Sakhina, Shantahar, Nelson Mandela, Dr.Yunus, etc. He is also the founder of the cultural organization Wrishijo Shilpi Gosthi. Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of wisdom, art and music is the daughter of lord Shiva and goddess Durga. It is believed that goddess Saraswati endows human beings with the powers of speech, wisdom and learning. She has four hands representing four aspects of human personality in learning: mind, intellect, alertness and ego. Pohela Boishakh - 1415


Pohela Boishakh is the first day of Bangla new year celebrated at 14 April with total heart and participation is known as " Nôbo Bôrsho ". Thousands people on Wednesday poured into the streets, parks and public places across the country. This biggest festival of the Bangali began with Chyanot's song presentation at the early morning in the Ramna Batamul, Dhaka. There was no room to move at the Chhayanaut celebrations at Ramna Batamul as the continuation since 1964, brave steps to protest against the Pakistani cultural accusation. Along Ramna Park, the Dhaka University campus, Central Shahid Minar, Dhanmondi, and Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area were sea of peoples. Local handicrafts, fashion material and artifacts were displayed and sold at Boishakhi Melas in different parts of the capital. Women particularly young girls dress up white saris with red borders and men clothed punjabis, fatua with cultural pride and fashion. The young and children had their cheeks painted with floral designs or slogans by students of fine arts, welcoming the new year. Different organisations brought out processions and organized musical programmes, fairs and cake festivals to mark the day. Rath Jatra


Rathjatra, one of the biggest of Hindu Mystical celebration. The fifteen days long festival held every year across the Bangladesh and India. The jatra that the rally with rath (van) of Lord Jogonnath. Nowadays Rathjatra celebration is not only now limited to Hindu community, becomes part of mainstream Bengali culture. The main Rathjatra festival in Dhaka has been organized by international Society for "Krishna conciousness" (ISKON). In these days, the Hindu believers worship god "Jogonath" by pulling chariots (rath). Thousands of people join in the festival with love to God and humanity. Peoples pray, indemnity and offer with total heart and devotion. Some believer join to relief from the part mistake, protection from diseases however for good fortune. During running the rath, the priest share out the offering banana to believers. All follower receive the banana as "gift of god" and "gift of love". However the fellows sang the common holy song, "Harey Kisna, Harey Raam..........." . In the Dhaka it start from ISKON to Dhakashori Temple. After ten day the rath again back to ISKON.
