How Do You Do - Mouth and MacNeil & "The Windows" cover

"How Do You DO" was written by (Hans van Hemert - Harry van Hoof) Hans van Hemert (Dutch) was the one who formed "Mouth & MacNeil" in the Netherlands and it seems that 1972 was a good year for him, because I have found three versions - all from 1972 - from three different countries! I have yet to find a recording in Dutch - if anyone has one...? There have recently been remixes by "Party Animals" "Scooter" along with German & English remixes by Ballermann Andy & Die Bürokaufmannsfrau In English, Mouth & MacNeil (and Jigsaw) and then the German version by "The Windows" "Mouth & MacNeal" in English: youtube.com "The Windows" in German: youtube.com The "Jigsaw" Australian version (in Australian *L*) youtube.com Mouth & MacNeal was a pop duo from The Netherlands. They were formed in 1971 when producer Hans van Hemert brought together the solo talents of Big Mouth (born Willem Duyn, March 31, 1937) and Maggie MacNeal (born Sjoukje van't Spijker, May 5, 1950) together. Big Mouth had previously sung in a number of 1960's bands, including Speedway. In contrast, MacNeal had had an unsuccessful career as a solo artist. The duo released their first single almost immediately. This first single, 'Hey You Love', reached #5 in the Dutch Top 40 while the next two singles 'How Do You Do' and 'Hello-A' both reached #1. In 1972 Mouth & MacNeal reached the top of the charts all over Europe, with their fame (especially in Germany) reaching almost hysterical proportions. "How Do You Do" was ...

Cape Breton Rita MacNeil She's Called Nova Scotia And Farwell To Nova Scotia (June 21/09)

Cape Breton,Nova Scotia (Music By Rita MacNeil She's Called Nova Scotia And Farwell To Nova Scotia) A Drive From Kelly's Mt To Auld Cove... Cape Breton Island (French: île du Cap-Breton - formerly île Royale, Scottish Gaelic: Eilean Cheap Breatuinn, Míkmaq: Únamakika, simply: Cape Breton) is an island on the Atlantic coast of North America. It likely corresponds to the French word "Breton", referring to Brittany. Cape Breton Island is part of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. Although physically separated from the Nova Scotia peninsula by the Strait of Canso, it is artificially connected to mainland Nova Scotia by the Canso Causeway. The island is located east-northeast of the mainland with its northern and western coasts fronting on the Gulf of St. Lawrence; its western coast also forming the eastern limits of the Northumberland Strait. The eastern and southern coasts front the Atlantic Ocean; its eastern coast also forming the western limits of the Cabot Strait. Its landmass slopes upward from south to north, culminating in the highlands of its northern cape. A saltwater estuary, Bras d'Or Lake, dominates the centre of the island. The island is divided into four of Nova Scotia's eighteen counties: Cape Breton, Inverness, Richmond, and Victoria. Their total population as of the 2001 census numbered 147454 "Cape Bretoners"; this is approximately 16% of the provincial population. Cape Breton Island has experienced a decline in population of approximately 6.8% since the ...

Journey To Australia ~ Song sung by Rita MacNeil

JOURNEY TO AUSTRALIA On my journey to Australia I had visions I had dreams They say that once you walk the land You'll never want to leave And on the way to Bundaberg I passed the cane train into town There's just a hint of sweetness When they burn that cane field down And if you like the city lights There's something you should know Australia, your city nights Are something to behold Chorus: And how can I tell the folks back home Just how great you are Did the painter get the picture Can the dreamer catch the star Australia in your shining sun There's one thing you should know I will remember you wherever I may go Oh the places I will travel Where I have never been I'll see a thousand faces Before it's time to leave And at the close of every day When all is feeling right I'll close my eyes and in dream time I'll think of you tonight And if you like the city lights There's something you should know Australia, your city nights Are something to behold. Chorus: And how can I tell the folks back home Just how great you are Did the painter get the picture Can the dreamer catch the star Australia in your shining sun There's one thing you should know I will remember you wherever I may go Oh, I will remember your wherever I may go ""Waltzing matilda, waltzing matilda You'll come a waltzing matilda with me" On a journey to Australia. Rita MacNeil NAC Ottawa Part 10 - Finale - Working Man

I waited the whole concert to capture this ... and I was not disappointed. Working Man is the kind of song that reminds me so much of my father's arduous life (the other like it if Factory) ... and the choir and Shane McLeod's amazing voice add so much to the song. It's hard not to get a lump in your throat when hearing this.

Cornell MacNeil - Pari Siamo - Rigoletto - Verdi

Cornell MacNeil (born 24 September 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) A true Verdi baritone with the darkness of a bass and the ringing top of a dramatic tenor. We no longer hear voices like this singing Verdi. Dark voices with no core/squillo are just as bad as bright voices with only core/squillo, but no darkness to balance it. MacNeil had chiaroscuro. Sorry about the slight skip at the end.

Leyla Gencer vs. Cornell MacNeil (Rigoletto: "Si, vendetta", live 1961)

A singing duel. Leyla Gencer nails a high E flat that rivals Callas' crazy E flat from the Mexico Aida. The Big Mac replies with an earth shattering A flat. The audience goes crazy - of course. However, Gianni Raimondi stole the show with his following high B natural in "La donna è mobile". It was en excellent performance (Buenos Aires 1961).
