READ BEFORE WATCHING. The next part of my run. This goes from exiting Woodfall Temple until warping back to Snowhead after getting the Hookshot. Throughout this description, I'll be referring to this topic: tasvideos.org * I discussed the alternate route (see one of my earlier posts) with petrie over AIM. We came to the conclusion that following the old route was still for the best, because the cutscene before hitting the bee hive isn't skippable if you break it with a deku bubble, even with tool-assistance. * On the way to Great Bay, I cancel the damage boost animation by landing on the fence for a frame. This saves a lot of time. * When pushing Mikau to land, you'll notice that I don't activate the cutscene immediately. This doesn't actually matter. The only way to start the scene immediately is to take longer when pushing him onto land. Besides, doing it this way meant that I could do some entertaining stuff while waiting for him. It also meant that I was already in the correct position for the Song of Healing. * While swimming as Zora Link, doing constant swan dives is fastest by a long shot. I also landed in such a position that hitting the Owl Statue caused Link to be shot into the water, which saved even more time. * In the Pirate's Fortress, I found a neat timesaver at the start which eliminated the need for that massive dive that Mukki did. The timesaver was swimming a bit to the left, and it allowed me to "swim" on land for a little bit, and gain control of him <b>...</b>

This tool-assisted speedrun by MrGrunz (me) aims to beat The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask in as little a time as possible by abusing several tricks and glitches. I know you guys had to wait long for this (actually planned on finishing this in like early 2010), but here it is. good quality needs time, which apllies to the actual TAS and also to the encode. The TAS was finished over a month ago already, but I decided to wait for Aktan to encode this first before publishing it on youtube, so I could provide this very high quality encode. Huge thanks to him for doing such an amazing job. It was made on an emulator, using frame-by-frame shooting, savestates, and rerecords to overcome things like reaction time and human error. As such, it is purely a form of entertainment, and is not designed to show skill. The various tricks and glitches, such as the Fairy Fountain Wrong Warp Glitch and Bottle Duplication Glitch, have been described by me here: tasvideos.org This TAS is the result of 2 years of hard work on the game. My goal was to get a time under 1 hour and 30 minutes. Although I discovered many new tricks while doing the run, I only barely subbed 1:30. I'm on a boat, bitch. No actually, we're starting the Kafei sidequest, which is going to come out to four videos in all, since I wanted to show as much of the story as possible. And there are some parts where we kinda "hang out" while waiting, just to help build anticipation. I missed the conversation between Anju and the postman, though, I really hate that I missed that, but it is not essential to completing the quest. You just find out at 2pm that she got a letter from Kafei, and she pesters the postman to tell her where it came from, but he just responds vaguely and it's quite hilarious.
