Kaikeyi goes to see Manthara, and finds her delirious. The scene then shifts to the palace, where Kaushalya & Sumitra are being cheered by the subjects of Ayodhya. As Kaikeyi appears, the mood instantly changes, and the crowd starts protesting her presence there. Finally, stung by the insults, Kaikeyi runs back into the palace, crying.
