This machine was inspired by watching a randomly shaped object bouncing off the surface of a slow moving, reciprocating and irregularly shaped piston head on the moon. Of course anything is possible in the virtual world of the computer. The doll house chair seems to be the perfect object to bounce nearly weightlessly over the unsuspecting cat. In this machine, the chair is passive and all motion is due to interference by the cat. The large disk at the back serves to both counterbalance the arm and give more mass to the chair itself. The motion of the chair is complex and will never repeat. Margot Clark was my wonderful and inspiring art history teacher at the University of New Hampshire. When she passed away she left a houseful of cats.

Kyra Nijinsky was the daughter of famed Ballet Russe dancer Vaslav Nijinsky and his wife Romola de Pulszky. Their marriage caused Serge de Diaghilev to dismiss Nijinsky from his company. "party in the usa" @ studio 429 featuring cassidy worley, margot leach, jacki lewis, tanner clark, keara geckeler, and bianca vallar. *today in ps rehearsal i decided to treat the kids to a routine co-choreographed by cassidy worley (P$ alumni/Tru-Definition), 15 years old and margot leach (P$), 11 years old. recently bianca and myself assigned choreography projects to our kids and had them collaborate with a selected amount of alumni, this was the product of cassidy and margot. a lot of similarities made us combine these two but the most obvious reasoning was of their contagious performance. back when i started directing primary source in '06 cassidy was one of those dancers you couldn't help but just watch because of her genuine stage presence, you could tell she was just enjoying herself and having the time of her life every time she set foot on the dance floor. with this new generation of primary source members, margot is her replica. in this day and age with dance becoming a popular trend, we as choreographers tend to create with guidelines that limit us to whatever looks good or cool... we forget how you feel while you are dancing is just as important. these two are naturals and definitely standouts, i guarantee just watching them will make you want to dance :) so remember...
