All in all, I am still amazed what you can get from a camera that you can put in a shirt pocket!! This is a recording of a Maine Fiddle Camp evening "staff concert", where Jerry McLane performs "Bonsoir Moreau" with fellow staffers Ari Friedman, Steve Muise, Lissa Schneckenburger, Fiona Schubeck, Dave Surette, Jeff Lewis, Corey DiMario. Bonsoir Moreau was actually composed by Creole fiddle player, Canray Fontenot, but was recorded by Canray and Creole accordionist, Amede Ardoin, back in the late 1920's. Amede Ardoin was indeed the first black man to record on the accordion and was probably accompanied by Canray at that time. This kind of concert happens ALL THE TIME at Maine Fiddle Camp. PLUS you can learn how to play fiddle, cello, guitar, mandolin, piano, accordion, banjo, pennywhistle, harmonica, bass, dulcimer at ANY level of experience, PLUS the food is great!! check out www.mainefiddle.org
