In this video I discuss and demonstrate how to train your shoulders correctly. This video only pertains to the 3 largest and most visible muscles that people train, the anterior, medial and posterior deltoid. I've seen a lot of people missing certain muscles or doing some of these exercises with awful form so I demonstrate the exercises and have little tips about what to look for and work on. People ask me a lot how to get large shoulders and don't really know what to do so I figured I'd make a video that talks about how to train the different parts and some common exercises. Many people don't even know to hit the 3 different muscles and end up just doing shoulder press which overworks their anterior deltoid and they completely neglect the medial and posterior deltoid. Since the anterior deltoid is involved in so many motions people end up having their shoulders round forward and mess up their posture, which then screws up every other exercise and goes exactly against what they're going for. Again this video is not 100% perfect or fully into shoulder training, but it should give you a decent idea of what to start with or some things to make sure to avoid. Be sure to check out my blog for upcoming posts that go more detail into shoulder training and I'm considering making a video about the other aspects of shoulder training (the rotator cuff, upper trapezius etc). Now, the wet foot test is actually a good way to figure out the height of your arch and therefore figure out if you are a neutral runner, a supinator/underpronator, or an overpronator. So, we have three beautiful specimens of Zappos employees here that we're gonna use today, myself included. And we've got three different heights of arches here for you, so you can actually see the different heights on the wet foot test. First we're gonna start out with Josh. Fill up the bucket of water just a little way -- just enough to cover your arch. What we're gonna do is let that drip dry a little bit, shake it off, and then we're gonna put the arch on this brown piece of paper here. Now newspaper can work, construction paper, anything that's going to leave an imprint of that arch. So Josh, if you could go ahead and get that in there. Now we're going to have to step off to the side so you can see the arch. Let that drip dry. And then go ahead and put your arch down, stand straight, and then step off.
