Ever Since Microsoft announced Metro UI and that it was the new start menu, people have hated it. If you're one of the many people that want the old start menu back, this video is for you. You will get the old taskbar as well as the start menu you know and love. It's a simple Registry hack that is super easy to do. It will literly take you a matter of seconds. First hover over the start menu and then click on search. Click on apps and type "regedit" then launch regedit. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RPEnabled and then double click on RPEnabled. Change the value data to 0. Hit okay and then the next time you logon you will have the Windows 7 Start menu. NOTE That this feature might be removed with a future release of windows 8. If it does get outdated I will have an anotation linking to a new method of getting the old start menu back (yes there will be a way). If you want to run IE 10, and still have a Start Menu, (or be able to find your programs after you install them) then you need to make this small change to the registry. WIN+R and then type REGEDIT and press enter. browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer select RPEnabled and change the value from 1 to Zero You can still toggle between the two by using the windows key. Most people believe that to mean November like the others. This update changes then entire interface, moving away from the blocks and channels of the NXE Dashboard/Kinect Dashboard into a fluid new pane based style, moving back towards the "blades" dash the console launched with.
