Edward Bear - You Can't Deny It (1970)

Edward Bear You Can't Deny It 1970 Toronto interview @ www.mjq.net Larry Evoy (drums, vocals) Danny Marks (guitar) Paul Weldon (keyboards) Bill Loop (bass) Roger Ellis (guitar; replaced Marks in 1972) Bob Kendall (keyboards; replaced Weldon in 1972) Barry Best (keyboards; replaced Kendall in 1974) Edward Bear (named after the real name of literature's Winnie The Pooh) was formed in the late '60's featuring Evoy, Marks, and Weldon. They struggled through the Yorkville scene in Toronto until finally landing a recording deal with Capitol Records in 1969. Their first single, "You, Me & Mexico", was released in February 1970 and was a smash hit in Canada, reaching No.3 on the international charts and No.68 in the US They embarked on a disastrous tour of Canada to support their first album 'Bearings'. Their follow-up LP, 1970's 'Eclipse', failed to find a substantial audience with the single "You Can't Deny It" showing poorly on the charts. However, the band was hitting its stride with their third album in 1972, 'Edward Bear', with back-to-back charting singles: "Fly Across The Sea" and "Masquerade" but the new commercial sound wasn't the direction that Weldon and Marks had come to expect from the band's earlier outtings and both gents left before their biggest selling single, "Last Song", was released in 1972. The song went to No.1 in Canada, No.3 in the US and Top 5 in Australia; it sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. The American arm of Capitol re-issued "You, Me ...

Homenaje al rey a 78 RPM! Elvis 75th birthday Mexican tribute ELV75

More Music Videos: ILoveProfHowdy.Com "You Belong to My Heart" is the name of an English language version of the Mexican Bolero song "Solamente una vez" which means "Only One Time". "Solamente una vez" was written and originally sung by the Mexican songwriter Agustín Lara. This original Spanish language version was very popular in Mexico and Cuba, and was recorded by many of the greatest Bolero musicians, including Benny Moré and Ignacio Piñeiro. The Three Caballeros: "Solamente una vez", retitled "You Belong to My Heart", was featured in the Disney film "The Three Caballeros" with English lyrics written by Ray Gilbert and sung by Dora Luz. SYLVIA - ELVIS PRESLEY - (1972)

Elvis tornou-se um dos maiores ícones da cultura popular mundial do século XX.[3] Entre seus sucessos musicais podemos destacar "Hound Dog", "Don't Be Cruel", "Love me Tender", "All Shook up", "Teddy Bear", "Jailhouse Rock", "It's Now Or Never", "Can´t Help Falling In Love", "Surrender", "Crying In The Chapel", "Mystery Train", "In The Ghetto", "Suspicious Minds", "Don't Cry Daddy", "The Wonder Of You", "An American Trilogy", "Burning Love", "My Boy" e "Moody Blue". Na Europa, canções como "Wooden Heart", "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me", "My Boy" e "Moody Blue" fizeram sucesso. Particulamente no Brasil, foram bem-sucedidas as canções "Kiss Me Quick", "Bossa ...

I let Bianca pick the movie and she picked No Strings Attached. (A/N: I really wanna see that! I LOVE Natalie Portman!) We got the popcorn and soda and went into the theater. -Of course you would pick a chick flick. Bianca: Oh shush. We got our seats and the movie started. It was surprisingly good. Half way through, I took Bianca's hand and even though it was dark, I saw a smile spread across her face. The movie ended and we had some time to kill before I had to be back, so we went for a drive. We talked and talked. Wow. This night has made me realize that I really do like Bianca. I pulled up in front of my house at the end of the night. -Next time I pick you up and drop you off. Bianca: You'll have to meet my dad. -I don't mind. I lived through Selena's step-dad, David Henrie, Mr. Cyrus and Trey Cyrus. Bianca: *giggles* I had fun tonight. -Me too. I looked into her beautiful brown eyes, leaned in and kissed her. She kissed me back. I felt a spark. For the first time ever, I feel a spark. I pull off and see that she's shocked too. Bianca: Wow. -Yeah. I smiled and kissed her again. She pulled off after a minute. Bianca: Goodnight. -Goodnight. I'll call you. Bianca: You better. Or I'll have Lucas beat you up. I laughed and she got out. I got out too and watched her drive off. Smiling, I went inside. Nikki jumped up and ran over to me. Nikki: Congrats bro! -So you're who she was texting as she walked to her car. Nikki: Yep! *smiles* You kissed her! *hugs him* -*hugs her ...

JIM REEVES-A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS.wmv

Biography TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA PART 1;;;;;;;;; Jim Reeves was born in Galloway, Texas a small rural community near Carthage. Winning an athletic scholarship to the University of Texas, he enrolled to study speech and drama, but dropped out after six weeks to work at the shipyards in Houston. Soon he returned to baseball, playing in the semi-professional leagues before signing with the St. Louis Cardinals farm team in 1944 as a right-handed pitcher. He stayed in the minor leagues for three years before severing his sciatic nerve on the pitching mound which ended his athletic career. Reeves began to work as a DJ, and sang live between songs. In the late 1940s, he was signed to a couple of small Texas-based record labels, but with no success. Influenced by such Western swing artists as Jimmie Rodgers and Moon Mullican, as well as popular crooners Bing Crosby, Eddy Arnold and Frank Sinatra, it was not long before he got a foothold in the music industry. He was a member of Moon Mullican's band and made some early Mullican-style recordings like "Each Beat of my Heart" and "My Heart's Like a Welcome Mat" from the late 1940s to the early 1950s. He eventually landed a job as an announcer on KWKH-AM in Shreveport, Louisiana, home to the popular Louisiana Hayride. His musical break came when singer Sleepy LaBeef was late for a performance on the Hayride, according to former Hayride emcee Frank Page, and Reeves was asked to fill in. The Four Tops Classic Golden Oldie hit. All through this long and sleepless night I hear my neighbors talking (She don't love him) Saying that out of my life Into another's arms you'll soon be walking Chorus: Somebody shake me, wake me when it's over Somebody tell me that I'm dreamin' And wake me when its over They say our love ain't what it used to be And everyone knows but me I close my ears not wanting to hear But the words are loud and clear Through these walls so thin I hear my neighbors when They say "She don't love him, she don't love him" They say my heart's in danger 'Cause you're leaving me For the love of a stranger Chorus: Somebody shake me, wake me somebody when it's over Somebody tell me that I'm dreamin' And wake me when its over Girl you're what my heart desires My whole world you inspire I can't bear to be losing you Cause I've loved you my whole life through (music interlude) Restlessly I pace the floor Listening to my neighbor's criticize What a fool I am not to realize You don't want me by your side As the tears stream down my face I can't believe I've been replaced If I've ever ever dreamed before Somebody tell me I'm dreaming now I said shake me, wake me somebody when its over Somebody tell me that I'm dreaming And wake me when its over C'mon wake me, shake me somebody

The Isle of Capri Song SilkyWilly

Showtime in TOKYO May 11th COME JOIN US!! 東京 江古田「バティー」シナトラ・トリビュート! 5月11日(金) → www.williamsilk.com Capri is an Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples, in the Campania region of Southern Italy. It has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic. Many young people are not aware of this, but Capri became a hugely popular exotic tourist destination 2 generations ago, in the days before the bikini! William Silk remembers how the lyrics enchanted him, but he was very surprised when he saw what Capri Island is really like. Magnificent jagged coastline with high cliffs and view points all over the island make, it a photographers heaven. It is also a paradise for yachts and sun-bathers like and snorkeling in the Mediterranean waters. It is also high class resort and many glamourous models and dark beauties can be found hanging off the arm of some dandy. William Silk sings a short heartfelt rendition of the very popular 1934 classic"Isle of Capri", music written by Hugh Williams, the lyrics by Jimmy Kennedy. This song was a huge world-wide hit, sung in countless arrangements and translations. The song's melody strongly resembles that of another popular standard, Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler's "Get Happy". It was first recorded in the UK by Lew Stone and his Band with vocal by trumpeter Nat Gonella (1934). Ray Noble and his Orchestra with vocal by Al Bowlly (1934) and by Gracie ...

GONZALO RUBALCABA - Besame Mucho

Gonzalo Rubalcaba - piano, Charlie Haden - bass and Jack Dejohnette - drums. Recorded in 1991. Gonzalo Julio Gonzalez Fonseca was born in Havana, Cuba, May 27, 1963, into a musical family rich in the traditions of the countrys artistic past. During his childhood, in addition to the standard fare of elementary schools, Gonzalo was absorbing his Cuban musical heritage through personal contacts within his family, notably his father, pianist Guillermo Rubalcaba, and leading musicians who were frequent houseguests: Frank Emilio, Peruchin, Felipe Dulzaides and others. He also assimilated through scarce and treasured recordings the tunes and styles of 40s 70s US jazz masters: Thelonius Monk, Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson among pianists; and instrumentalists Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Art Blakey. Gonzalo loved drumming, and early in his career studied both piano and drums. He began his classical musical training at Manuel Saumell Conservatory at age 9, where he finally had to choose piano; he moved up to middle-school at Amadeo Roldan Conservatory, and finally earned his degree in music composition from Havanas Institute of Fine Arts in l983. By that time he was already playing in clubs and music halls in Havana. With Orquesta Aragon he toured France and Africa in 1980. He introduced his own Grupo Projecto to the North Sea and Berlin Festivals in l985. In July 1990 he appeared as a surprise guest with Charlie Haden and Paul Motian at Montreux Festival, Switzerland, in a ...

King Biscuit Flower Hour Presents Ringo & His New All-Starr Band - Don't Go Where the Road Don't Go

Live in Chicago, August 22nd 2001. Time Takes Time is the tenth studio album by Ringo Starr, released in 1992, his critically acclaimed comeback album. His first studio album since 1983's Old Wave, it followed a successful 1989/1990 world tour with his All-Starr Band. Aligning himself with top producers Don Was, Peter Asher, Phil Ramone and Jeff Lynne, the album was recorded sporadically throughout 1991. The material was written predominantly by outside writers, with Ringo co-writing three songs. Time Takes Time features several celebrity guests including Brian Wilson, Harry Nilsson and Electric Light Orchestra frontman Lynne. Time Takes Time also marked Starr's first alliance with Mark Hudson,[3] both of whom would embark on a long-term musical partnership in the ensuing years. Hudson assisted in vocal arrangements on some of the Phil Ramone-produced tracks. Several tracks were left off the album.[4] A Paul McCartney song entitled "Angel in Disguise", to which Ringo added a verse, has not seen the light of day.[4] Ringo covered the Elvis Presley hit "Don't Be Cruel" which was instead issued as the B-side of the "Weight Of The World" CD single (except in Japan). Another outtake, "Everyone Wins", was issued in Germany as the vinyl B-side of the "Don't Go Where The Road Don't Go" single. Two more outtakes that never saw the light of day (to date) were a Phil Picket song "Love Is Going To Get You", produced by Phil Ramone, and the Jeff Lynne produced "Call Me". Lynne told ...

I Wonder if Heaven got A Ghetto - 2Pac

"I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto" is the first posthumous single by 2Pac. It appears on his album RU Still Down? (Remember Me). It was also released as the B-side on the "Keep Ya Head Up" single. There are two versions of the song on the "RU Still Down? (Remember Me)" album. One is the regular remix version; the other is a "hip-hop remix" version which was recorded while he was on Death Row and intended for the album. They are both different from the original version that was featured on the Keep Ya Head Up single. In "Changes", lyrics from "I Wonder If Heaven Got a Ghetto" are featured in the first verse. 2Pac often wrote songs that remained unreleased when he was alive, and as such took liberties re-using lyrics. The phrase "I wonder if heaven got a ghetto" first appears in the 1992 song "Welcome to the Ghetto" by Spice 1. [edit] Video In the music video, the camera's perspective is a first-person viewpoint of Shakur. After being shot, he stumbles to a nunnery in fictional Rukahs, New Mexico. ('Rukahs' spelled backward is 'Shakur'.) The license plate of the car that Shakur gets in with the older man reads "61671", which references his birthday on June 16th, 1971. The room he goes into with the girl is room number 7. The clock in the background at the end is at 4:03, the same time Shakur officially died. The video also features several notable figures. Mother Teresa is seen getting on a bus, and already on the bus is Jimi Hendrix, Martin Luther King Jr., a Black Panther ...

By Request: More Animaniacs songs, and questions answered (re-upload)

This is a RE-UPLOAD of a video originally posted in 2007. Sound sync problems caused by some YouTube quirk mysteriously popped up in my video almost two years later and caused the talking and singing to be completely out of sync with the video, which was so obnoxious it's unwatchable. I tried to get technical assistance but I was ignored completely, and I was tired of having a warped video posted, so I downloaded it, fixed the sync, and reposted it. This is me answering questions people asked after my first video came out, then singing the "Yakko's World" song as fast as I can, "Wakko's America" at a normal speed, and "I'm Cute" (in the style of Dot) with corny effects. This was recorded with my webcam and crappy computer mic, but I still think it's worth sharing. The "Top 30 Fictional Characters" list I mention in the video is here: swankivy.com More singing is available on my page here: swankivy.com And I have a pretty neato music video here if you want to hear non-cartoon singing: www.youtube.com
