Our name, Beat Down Boogie, came from a feature film script that we pitched to some film industry folks in 2009. The video above was a rough concept piece to show the humor and action style. In the end we had to make too many compromises in order to get the budget for the film. We decided to save the script for a day when we could make it the way it's supposed to be. Hopefully we will get the chance some day! We got a visit from stuntmen Eric, Manny and Shawn to discuss the film. While they were here we filmed a couple impromptu practice sessions. It's hard work, but we keep it fun. We'll have some new outtakes and bloopers up soon! PS. The adhesive I'm using is called Sculpt-or-Coat and it's made in Winston Salem here in NC. Usually we have a 3-man crew (with the lead actors helping out as well), but for more ambitious scenes we get a couple more volunteers. When we started out, the only real gear we had were the monopods, tripods, and Rick's SmallHD monitor. But a few equipment companies (CMR Blackbird, Kessler Crane, CPM, Sigma & Ehobbyasia) admired our effort and passion and reached out to help us make MWGS Parts 3, 4 , and 5 really special.
