so here is one of my last post-class rehearsals for my uspdf optional. this sesh resulted in very helpful notes that helped me get it performance-ready. thank you kyra, marlo, kelly, gigi, steven, amy, tracee, lauren, rica, ariel + everyone who watched all bumpy works in progress. Filmed at Body & Pole--holla!!! Although the 3+ months of preparation, training, choreographing and freaking out were often overwhelming and painful i LOVED this routine and am so appreciative for the opportunity to share the stage with the other amazing girls and share my love of pole dance with the audience.

Michelle Stanek
Michelle Stanek is the 2011 Pole Dance Universe champion. She also won the 2011 USPDF Amateur title as well as the PFA's Pole Drama title in 2010. She placed 4th in the prestigious Pole Art competition in Helsinki, Finland in October 2011, where she also performed with the aerial dance company, Aera. In January 2010 she won the inaugural Polesque competition with her sexy, strange, gender-bendery rendition of Leonard Coen's "Im You Man" as her first public pole performance. As a performer, Michelle is known for her body awareness, clean lines, extension, unique choreography, powerful movement and captivating performance quality. Her style is not just the traditional "sexy" and not just the traditional "contemporary" but an interesting blend of both. As a dancer, she has performed modern and pole dance at the Pole Convention, theaters, museums and even parks in New York City. She and her colleague Rebecca Starr were also the first premier pole dancers to present the art form at a huge fashion show event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a teacher, Michelle is incredibly successful at fulfilling her students' needs from learning how to booty pop, finally executing the knee hold, perfecting the jade, finessing movement, fixing alignment and developing an artistry in their poling. She has taught everyone from the teenage dancer to the retiree from the United States to Europe to Scandinavia and beyond. Nadia - Eat You Alive-Girl Next Door Performance
this is a version of my USPDF 2011 Nationals routine, I changed it a little bit for the staging at the King King in Hollywood where the pole show known as Girl Next Door happens the first sunday of every month. This routine earned me my pro status at USPDF. Congrats to Michelle Stanek and Amy Guion for also getting their well deserved pro status :) Special thanks to Kelly Maglia for making me an awesome costume. I hope you enjoy this performance, the chair skills were not skills I knew existed until I started developing this routine.
