She indicated in an interview with Jet Magazine that she had a happy childhood and was "very much a loved child".[1] Scott attended the Philadelphia High School for Girls and after graduating, attended Temple University while simultaneously working two jobs. She studied secondary education for three years and had planned on becoming a high school English teacher, but after spending time as a teacher's aide, Scott became disillusioned with the teaching profession and dropped out of school. [2] Prior to her breakthrough in the music industry, Scott worked at a variety of jobs, including a number of retail positions and stints at a construction site and an ice cream parlor [3]. She remains close to her mother and grandmother, nicknamed Blue Babe, and currently resides in Mount Laurel Township, New Jersey. Scott began her performing career as a spoken word artist, appearing at live poetry readings to perform her work. She was eventually discovered by Amir "QuestLove" Thompson of The Roots. QuestLove invited her to join the band in the studio, and the collaboration resulted in a co-writing credit for Scott for the song, "You Got Me." Modano had a goal and an assist in regulation in possibly his final home game with the Stars, then scored in the second round of the shootout to help Dallas beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 on Thursday night. Modano will seriously considering retirement when the season is over, and he was overcome by emotion several times during the game. "It was tough to leave the ice not knowing what the future holds, whether that was it or it wasn't," Modano said. "I didn't really have an idea what to expect but it was a nice way to possibly end it, how it unfolded. The fans were fantastic." Fans cheered Modano when he took the ice for warmups, displaying such signs as "1 Mo Year" and "Say It Ain't So Mo," and they roared when Modano was introduced with the starting lineup. Modano was shown on the video board during a stoppage in play with less than six minutes left in regulation. He had tears in his eyes when he received an extended standing ovation. Even the referees applauded Modano and the Ducks on the bench stood and tapped their sticks on the boards in recognition. "He is the reason I chose No. 9 when I was coming up," said Anaheim's Bobby Ryan, who had both of his team's goals. "He stymied us tonight but if anybody deserved it, it was him." On New Year's Eve 1944, American pilot Mike Clarke inadvertently bets Al Capone's nephew $10000 that he can shoot down five enemy aircrafts. Later, forced to land near a remote village in Ireland after running out of fuel, Mike learns that he is cut off from the rest of the world with no way to rejoin the war and shoot down his fifth plane, which is the only way he can win the bet and save his own life. With nowhere to go, he eventually befriends the colorful villagers and meets a fiery red-head named Maggie who shows this pilot that combat can take place on the ground just as well as in the air. It doesn't take long for Mike and Maggie to grow close as she helps him figure out how to win his bet while winning her heart in the process.
